“This was an amazing place!!! The wifeski and I were celebrating our anniversary a couple weeks late and this was a great restaurant. It took a minute to adjust to the low lighting. However, the decor was nice, comfortable couches, chairs and lounge area. The drinks were great. I had an old fashion and children of the corn. We shared a salmon pincetta and I had the Filetto NWL as my entree. Both were spectacular! Eric Graham set the mood with great covera and some originals as well. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Any time a staff member came by they were always asking if we needed anything.”
“This place is incredibly swanky and beautifully done think dark wood paneling, rich leather couches, glowing chandeliers, and walls lined with classic paintings and books that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a high end private library from the past. The lighting is perfect moody and intimate without being too dark, and every detail feels thoughtfully curated, from the tufted velvet seating to the elegant table settings. It’s the ideal spot for a date night, special occasion, or just unwinding with a great glass of wine. The whisky and drink list is impressive, with solid options by the glass and bottle. Ordered the truffle fries, simple but delicious. The whole atmosphere is upscale yet welcoming. Exactly what you want from a hidden speakeasy in Corpus Christi. We loved every second here and will definitely be back. If you’re looking for a classy, atmospheric night out, this is the place. Highly recommend!”
“Great restaurant and whiskey bar. We had a group of 6 and really enjoyed it. Nicely decorated with a great vibe. The cocktails were 💯- recommend Writer’s Block and Children of the Corn! Extensive whiskey selection - Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Japanese and more. Service was a tad slow, but the servers were friendly. Food was good, portions are on the smaller side.”
“My first evening visiting Corpus Christi for the first time. A friend brought me here. Absolute gem! Atmosphere is amazing, the server was bubbly and checked in on us, ordered different starters my fav was the meatballs. The old fashioned could have been better considering this is a “Whiskey Library “ but I still think it’d be worth your visit 100%”
“My wife and I wanted to try this restaurant out for some time. Unfortunately, I think they had an off night as I've heard others talk very positively about the food and service. We decided to eat here for our 24th anniversary, which made things extra disappointing. The waitress was bubbly and enthusiastic in her interactions. For some reason she was pulled away midway through our meal. I had planned to order a bourbon but lost my will to order after I didn't see her for a while. Apparently, the bar tender was assigned to our table and came over when she saw me looking around. But the worst part of this experience was my steak dinner. I ordered this $42 steak as medium. What I received was a somewhat small and thin, crispy burnt (see pic) steak on the outside and medium to well done on the inside. The first few bites were well done and down right dry and hard to chew. The middle parts of the steak were better, but overall I was underwhelmed and disappointed. I swear this steak was probably reheated in some way, maybe a left over piece from Mothers Day service. Even the vegetables had a charred, recooked quality. My wife had the two small burger appetizer which was "good" by her description but not great. The appetizer consisted of three small pieces of bread, which were tasty but not filling in any way. The highlight of the meal was the french fries which were piping hot and crispy with excellent flavor and a very large portion - maybe some of the best fries we've ever had... The problem is that when you spend $175 (including tip), the fries should not be the highlight of the meal. Given the cost of this restaurant and sketchy quality/quantity of food for this meal, I'm not sure if I want to give it another chance.”
