“We celebrated my primo and bro-in-law for their birthdays. The atmosphere is always good, the music stays on vibes, and everyone is singing lol. I will say the food was OK. I've been to this location twice before covid hit, and the food presentation was awesome they gave you so much food, enough for 2 people, and they had a live DJ. This time around, it wasn't like that at all. But, we still had a good time. Oh, and the sushi was delicious 😋”
“The atmosphere was very nice and the DJ played good upbeat partying music. They add a 20% gratuity to your bill. The food was pretty good. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg rolls. My friends said they enjoyed their food as well.”
“Came here with my boyfriend and our friends for restaurant week. Not a huge difference in price but on the restaurant weeks page it says nikko fixed price is $35 and that included an app entree and desert. When we get there the menus say $40 and when we got the checks it was $35 for the app and entree then charged $5 for the ice cream separate, I was super full by desert and wouldn’t have gotten it if I was paying $5 for it to basically go to waste. The turnover for the food took forever (which came out cold) and the service was not great. I feel like our waitress really didn’t care about us and our experience. The table next to us got their food drinks and everything before us and they got here after us. The music was loud to the point you can’t hear the people next to us. Overall i would give this place a 3/10 and probably will not be back.”
“My husband and I visited Nikko to celebrate my birthday. We arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes prior to our reservation (6:50pm) and were seated promptly. The table was not ready to be sat and the waitress had to clean the table off to seat us. After she asked for our drink order and I tried to order a dirty vodka martini to which she replied they were out of all plain vodka. Mind you this was a Saturday night. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband ordered an Old Fashioned. Our drinks came out and the wine was fine but his drink was just a finger of bourbon poured over an ice sphere. While we waited to order, three large groups of 10-12 people each walked in and were waiting to be seated. They waited at least 20 minutes before anyone walked up to even speak to them. While watching the lobby get fuller and fuller I noticed that on the restaurant floor there were only two servers working. They were taking orders, serving drinks, acting as the hostess and bussing the tables. Not to be offensive but they were both older ladies and in a restaurant of Nikko’s size this was not feasible. On top of this they were using plastic push carts to bring drinks and food to the tables. My husband and I waited approximately 40 minutes before we were done. We paid for our drinks and left at 7:30 pm. This used to be an amazing spot for food and drinks but this was absolutely horrible. We will not be back and it is extremely sad because it used to be one of my favorite spots in Charlotte.”
“This is the most awful service I’ve ever experienced in my life. I had a reservation at 7:30PM and didn’t get my food till 9:30PM. When the food came the chicken was cold. I saw my sushi ready at the end of the sushi bar for 30 minutes and they wouldn’t bring it out to my table. They served one of our drinks in a nasty martini cup there was a lipstick and lip stain on the glass. They tried to compensate us with shots and gave us shots in dirty glasses. There was food on the shot glass. There is nobody here, maybe 4 tables max including us and the service took forever. They also served cocktail drinks in different shapes of glasses so people weren’t getting even proportion for what they’re paying for. Whoever is managing this place is awful. It is not clean. They don’t have a dishwasher. I would not trust anything from here. There is so reason any restaurant should be serving anything with dirty dishes.”
