“Let me tell you a story. I'm from Reno Nevada. We have something called all you can eat sushi, and it is an absolute abomination of the art of sushi. It is the equivalent of Michelangelo art prints being sold as trading cards with a Happy Meal. As a result of this defilement of sushi, I always make sure I eat sushi when I travel. I'm not entirely sure anyone would expect the most exquisite manifestation of sushi to occur in Chico California but there you have it. They offer a sampling of incredible aged nigiri here that I've rarely witnessed anywhere else. This, is a hidden gem in the central California basin. I question whether I am deserving of such an experience honestly, but there you have it. Deserved or not, I encountered one of the greatest sushi experiences outside of Japan.”

“Rawbar is hands down my favorite sushi spot in Chico and after another visit it still holds the crown, well not the King of Chico, that’s me. They are famous for their Poké bowl, but we only did sushi this time (my willpower deserves recognition).. The edamame was excellent and their miso soup is still one of my favorites anywhere. It just tastes different… richer and more intentional than the usual versions. I’m a huge saba fan and theirs was exactly why I keep coming back… clean, fresh and done right. My kid had the tataki and it was the same story there, super fresh and gone in about thirty seconds. We also had the Gilroy (yum) Japanese Cowboy, Red Dragon, Hibachi Sunset and Lotus Cobra. The Lotus Cobra is one of those rolls you order once and then it just becomes part of your future. The ambiance is probably my favorite in Chico. It’s one of those places where you can have a great meal and some top tier people watching at the same time. Service is always solid, friendly without being fake, and everything from the dining area to the bathrooms is consistently clean. I’ll just say it… I wish we had a place like this back on the Mendocino Coast. Until then, this is always going to be my Chico sushi stop. If you like fresh fish, good energy and a place that just feels dialed in, Rawbar is hard to beat.”

“Visited September 26th...always see my receipt as proof! This place had great reviews in Chico and they were right! Beautiful and sleek inside and out! I love suishi and I ordered the Red dragon because it was spicy! YUM! My boyfriend had the California roll which he enjoyed. BEST was the baby back ribs! YES...their ribs melted right off the bone in a slightly sticky and awesome concoction! Beautiful presentation on all dishes! We also had a glass of wine and a local IPA. They have an extended area that also serves hard alcohol along with beer..wine..sake and specialty drinks. We got there when they opened at 1130am and it was nice and cool inside! They also have outdoor seating that is shaded! It was a Great experience! Thank you Regan and the two awesome suishi chefs...Charlie ( cute petite gal) and Syrjah (i didn't spell his name right..awesome man bun.). Professional and friendly and show pride in what they do! Love the location because it's walking distance to shops! I will be back! 5 star service...classy yet unpretentious and relaxing!”

“This is the type of place where the food justifies a return visit. Order: Shaka Tuna and Baby Greens for the appetizer. Scallop crunch, Salmon Fiesta and the Red Dragon for sushi. Shaka Tuna had these very fine diced picked onions that really added this amazing flavor. It was so tempting to drink the marinade at the bottom! Also the Baby Greens has this amazing sesame based dressing. I thought it was a steal for the price. I think I was so wowed by the apps that no matter what I was going to think the sushi was good, which it was. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice. Lots of staff came and went to pick up their drinks and it seems like the people there are quality and are enjoying themselves.”

“Came here for a nice night out. Recommend calling for reservations this place was packed on a Saturday night. That being said the service was amazing and the food still came out fast and pretty delicious. Tried multiple rolls. All had great flavors. Would go back.”
