“Chisai Sushi Club was rated one of the best omakase in SF and it truly was a wonderful omakase experience! We chose The Oki which had the oysters and more nigiri than The Chisai. It was the perfect portion, leaving us satisfied and full. There were so many dishes with a variety of complex flavors that I lost track halfway through. Every bite was crafted with unique sauces, marinade, and ingredients that complimented the fish. It took our tastebuds on a culinary adventure from the salty flavors of caviar, smoked fish, spice of ginger crystals, earthy truffle, richness of uni sauces, to a punch of sourness from the yuzu marmalade. Of course the Toro was so buttery and all of the seafood were top quality. They have craft beers as well on the menu. The space is small and had the vibes of being in an izakaya in Japan. We got to sit close and personl with our sushi chef. A lot of other people were also there celebrating special occasions, and Chisai had a personalized card for each. At the end they also gave us some cute stickers as Chisai swag. Great service, spectacular presentation, and amazing food!”
“Chisai Sushi Club is a small but cozy gem in San Francisco. The intimate setting makes the experience feel special, and they offer omakase-style dining at a very reasonable price. I had the Chisai course while my husband ordered the Oki, and every piece was outstanding. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The chef was super friendly and took the time to introduce each dish, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The nigiri was so good that I couldn’t resist ordering extra pieces at the end. Definitely make a reservation — it doesn’t seem like they take walk-ins. This is a new favorite spot that’s officially going into my go-to restaurant notebook. 🍣✨”
“Fantastic experience! Treated my girlfriend here for her birthday and got "The Chisai" omakase set menu for $120 which included oyster, salad, sashimi, 12 piece nigiri, temaki, and dessert. Favorites: 1. Seared salmon 2. Sea bream with sea salt flakes 3. Albacore We sat at the counter. The restaurant had a dimly lit, intimate ambience, and the chef was very nice and quiet. The restaurant only sat about 16 people. Would definitely come back!”
“This place is special. I’m so used to saying in SF, “was pretty good but paid 50% too much.” The same cannot be said about this place. We had the Chiisai omakese and it was expertly plated and service was phenomenal. From the plating, to the quality, to the ambiance, you can tell this place takes extreme pride. Will be coming back!”
“Went there for my wife's birthday dinner with our oldest kid. We got two chisai and the oki (more expensive option, by $30). The place is small, and nice. Good spacing between tables. The service was great, both the servers would let you know where the fish from and the sauce. For the price, the quality and amount of food was totally worth it. My only minor quibble is that most of the nigiri and sashimi also felt a bit more oversauced. However, most of the sauces were quite unique and different, so a different style that kinda worked. My kid loved the meal Definitely worth a visit”
