The Oakville Wine Merchant in Oakville offers a tasting of distinctive wines from each unique Napa Valley appellation, allowing guests to discover its diversity, abundance, world-renowned terroir, and deep history. Taste from over 85 wines by the glass from Napa's finest producers in the beautiful setting of our 150-year-old Victorian house.
“Such a cozy little place with so much history and life in the decor. Don’t miss the upstairs where you can read bits of history and view old tools used in the vineyards. Once you get to the top you can look over the tasting room. Loved the outside patio area.”
“We wandered in after enjoying a morning a coffee stop next door at the Grocery. Unplanned tasting pours were a good way to ease into our day and add a little extra exploration. Jake and Kell were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There was a diverse range of options to pour and they were nicely organized. We enjoyed the information paired with each appellation. Well curated, friendly, and well worth a stop!”
“Such a unique spot. Not your average tasting. When you walk in they give you a card which allows you to go around and try different wines. It’s quite pricey. We didn’t realize after trying a few wines how high our total had gotten for just a few tastings. They do have different price ranges some from like $10 a taste to like $300+. You also have the option to do a half glass or a full glass on most of the wines. Our reservation came with a cheese plate. Olives were amazing!”
“1881 NAPA WINE HISTORY MUSEUM and Tasting turned out to be an unexpected delight during our day trip to Napa Valley. We stumbled upon this gem quite serendipitously, and what a find it was! The compact museum provides intriguing glimpses into the valley's nascent days, adding depth to one's appreciation of this renowned wine-producing region. The wine tasting was an experience in itself. Not only were the wines top-notch, but the ambiance, which beautifully marries the charm of a museum with the sophistication of a winery, enhanced the entire experience. For those charting out their Napa journey, I'd wholeheartedly recommend adding 1881 NAPA to the itinerary. It's an enriching detour that promises both knowledge and palate pleasure.”
“The machines are cool, but the wine selection in the machines is lacking. Focus seems to be $50 1oz tastes of very overpriced wines. There are some cheaper ones but they also feel overpriced. CIA at Copia has the same thing, but waaay better wines at lower prices. Save your time and just go there”
