Omakase Box is a Logan Square omakase restaurant built around dry-aged fish, thoughtful sourcing, and honest pricing. At the center is our 15-course chef’s counter omakase, the fullest expression of what we do. Recognized as one of Chicago’s standout sushi experiences, it is special enough for an occasion, yet grounded enough to come back to. Around it is a full dining room, giving guests a more flexible way to experience Omakase Box without losing the care and detail behind the food. **For clarity, we are NOT BYOB**
“A great omakase experience with a very reasonable price tag! The uni, the otoro, and the sablefish were the standouts for me (and I even ordered another round of the otoro). Some of the dishes were very inventive, especially with spices (cinnamon!) and a different from anything I've tried before. The chef was friendly and the waitstaff were very attentive.”
“Omakase Box should definitely be on your list for a chef's tasting experience. Hands down, this place is easily one of my new favorites in Chicago. Chef Lee did not shy away from bold flavors, which is exactly up my alley. The team brought together creative toppings that stays true to Asian spices, while merging with it - Japanese flair. For $98, you get 15 courses, which is really a steal compared to other places that charge $200 or more. Perfect place for a date spot, celebration, or a night out with friends. Sake list is quite nice, the only critique I have is, wish dessert was a little more elevated, but otherwise still a solid offer. I would still go back regardless. They also offer handrolls and other small bites!”
“10/10 experience. We came because the restaurant extended its Restaurant Week special. The menu included one appetizer, a 7-piece nigiri set, two hand rolls, and mochi for dessert. Every dish tasted outstanding. The sushi tasted fresh and melted in your mouth. The hand rolls stood out as well. Service was great from start to finish. The staff were friendly and stayed attentive throughout the meal. I would definitely come back again.”
“Without a doubt, this is the best omakase experience in Chicago when it comes to both quality and value. Every course showcased an incredible balance of flavor, texture, and freshness. The ingredients were exceptional and the fish melted like butter. From the Hokkaido scallops to the uni, each component was thoughtfully sourced and perfectly paired within every dish. Nothing felt random or excessive; every bite had purpose and it all came together seamlessly. I appreciated that they would pair ingredients together that I haven’t seen before. What truly sets this place apart is the level of care behind the experience. You can immediately tell the team is deeply knowledgeable and incredibly intentional about what they serve. They go the extra mile, not just in the food, but in the way they present and explain each course. The owner and staff create an atmosphere that feels personal and memorable. It’s more than just dinner it’s an experience that stays with you. Every detail reflects passion and dedication, making it absolutely worth the price. I also recommend the à la carte if you’re looking for a cheaper option and less courses. If you’re looking for the best omakase in Chicago, this is it.”
“My friend and I came to celebrate my birthday and Chef Lee made it a good and memorable experience. The 15 course meal was well worth its price. Each dish was fresh and prepared with skill. We even got additional Chutoro sushi after just because it was so delicious. The cheesecake basque was lovely as well. Would highly recommend. I’m definitely going back again with more people.”
