“Finally made it over here and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I'm still slightly partial to Chiang Rai in Long Beach as my favorite Thai restaurant, but this place is right up there and absolutely worth the visit. Everything we ordered was excellent. The papaya salad was the perfect way to start the meal. It was fresh, vibrant, and definitely packs some heat, so be prepared if you like spicy food. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly and came with a delicious sweet dipping sauce. It was excellent, but next time I'd probably order some of their more unique dishes since the menu has so many incredible options. The Massaman curry was the star of the meal. Rich, creamy, and loaded with an amazing peanut flavor that absolutely slaps. It is one of the best versions I've ever had. And of course, you can't skip the mango sticky rice. The mango was perfectly ripe, the sticky rice was warm and creamy, and it was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was friendly, the food completely lived up to its reputation, and I can already tell this is a place I'll be coming back to. If you're a fan of Thai food, this place deserves a spot on your list.”
“At Anajak Thai, dinner stops feeling like a reservation and starts feeling like karma is on your side. This isn’t watered down Thai food dressed up for LA approval. It’s loud, deeply personal, and completely addictive. One minute you’re demolishing some of the crispiest Southern Thai fried chicken in the city, the next you’re sipping natural wine while someone nearby debates whether Michelin has fully caught on. There simply aren’t enough stars for Anajak. What makes Anajak special is that nothing feels performative, even though everything feels special. The room buzzes, the music lands, and dishes arrive with a beautiful sense of controlled chaos. Every plate feels like someone in the kitchen genuinely cared whether you remembered it tomorrow. Trust me, you will. The noodles have that glossy, wok-kissed perfection that ruins mediocre Thai food forever. The curries unfold in layers. The crudo delivers a jolt of bright acidity that wakes up your entire palate. Every flavor is turned all the way up without ever losing balance. What Justin Pichetrungsi has built is bigger than a great Thai restaurant. He transformed a decades old Valley institution into one of the most exciting dining rooms in America without sacrificing its soul. The perfect blend of old school and next generation, Anajak is the beating heart of LA’s dining scene. You leave full, overstimulated, slightly emotional, and already checking Resy for your next reservation.”
“I've been a resident of the greater Los Angeles area and this has been a bookmark that took FAR too long to get to. As I'm sure you've learned getting a reservation here is not the easiest of tasks. The time finally came when we opened up and saw a late reservation open up. I will say that we did feel a little rushed as everyone was clearing out but the service was still on point and the food was everything we dreamed of. The atmosphere of a loud boisterous organized kitchen coupled with a grand selection of wine right at your table-side made the digestion that much more. The hype is real and although you're spending a hefty chunk, you realize that this is why you work so hard, to feast and enjoy. The crudo was a must in my opinion and the sauce mends well with the fried chicken. Oh my that fried chicken... I've been waiting to try it for quite some time. I felt like a 5 year old child seeing other orders pass by the table, hoping one was ours. When it arrived, I almost teared of joy. Years of waiting for this moment and I couldn't have been more happy. The staff was beyond 5 stars and made the journey so worthwhile. Great recommendations and forever grateful and looking forward to come back hopefully soon!”
“Nice restaurant, visited because of the Chase Sapphire restaurant deal. The food was high quality and came quickly. Server Jose was excellent as well. Fairly expensive, ~$270 total for 2 people, but we ordered a ton of food. One interesting note, they have two bathrooms, one labeled “Everyone” and the other labeled “Women”. A bit strange not to have two “everyone” bathrooms instead.”
“Had a great dinner with my husband here for TTT. We got the bass tacos and one of the fish tostadas. Those were great. We got the fried chicken which was a hefty portion. Would order that again. And we ordered the crab fried rice which was good but might try something else next time. And the pad Thai, which is a classic, and they do a great job with it. We sat outside, and that was nice except the alley creates a wind tunnel so bring a jacket!”
