Savoy Grill – Gordon Ramsay

Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old brothel, we take the best meat in the country from the award winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Sunday Roast almost as good as Mum's. Bookings and Walk-Ins available.
“Great restaurant. 5 star service. The steak was well cooked with good garnishing and sides. However, your cheesecake is ONE OF THE BEST I've ever had in my life and to DIE FOR!. Thank you for sharing the recipe on our IG page as my partner and I have recreated it back home in Sydney. That said, I will never forget our dining experience at your Soho restaurant several weeks ago. It was our final meal before we departed London and you made it truly special!”
“Omg, no notes 👌🏼 walked in around 5.30pm on a weds and they sat us quite quickly although the place was packed, much appreciated. Had the steak sandwich, steak pie and chips. One of the best meals we ever had- could tell they cooked the food with so much love and passion. The white cheesecake at the end was the perfect cherry on top. Reasonably priced, good vibes and great service. Could not recommend it more!”
“Great food and it was such a vibe! We were lucky enough to get a table for 3 without booking on a Thursday. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a Moscow mule, old fashioned and a Negroni and they were tasty I had the Denver steak and my friends got the rib eye and both were delicious. One of the best steaks I’ve had. For sides: the beef dripping chips were amazing and crunchy! The sweet potato was flavorful and the broccoli and walnut salad was delicious. For sauces: the garlic bone marrow was ok but the chop sauce (which is their peppercorn sauce) was amazing And lastly we had the cheesecake to share and it was wonderful!! I will definitely be coming back 🤗”
“Had an amazing lunch with my partner and had to leave a review. We had the pigs head on toast as a starter and it was literally 10/10, it went so well with the house gravy, the meat was soft and well done to perfection and was melting away. As for mains we both had (butchers cut) ribeye - 1 medium and 1 medium/well, medium was melting away and medium well was best I ever tasted and was still amazing on final bites even on room temperature. The meat here is very good value to money and it’s worth the additional cost compared to slightly cheaper alternatives. Along with the steaks, we order sweet potatoes, chips and broccoli salad. The sweet potatoes were amazing and tasted even better with skin which was burnt (in a nice way), chips was dipped in beef oil and was probably the best I had in this version and salad was honestly amazing with the combination of walnuts and the salad dressing. Finally the white chocolate cheesecake went so amazingly after everything to give us a sweet tooth, the cheesecake was really soft at the bottom and paired so well with the white chocolate on top. We ordered a beef marrow and a couple of sauces which were also very tasty but my favourite was the gravy. Overall I’ll rate this place 10/10, might cost little more compared to some other chains, but worth the difference. All staff was super friendly but we specifically thank Federico for being very helpful with all the information he gave us and helped us choose wisely to our taste.”
“I think Blacklock is a great steak restaurant. On my first day I tried the T-Bone and it was really good, although medium-well turned out a bit overcooked. On the second day I ordered the Denver steak. They recommended medium-rare, so I went with that, and it was fantastic. The local IPA wasn’t bad either, although I personally prefer stronger beers with steak. I didn’t like the white chocolate cheesecake very much — it felt too fatty and artificial, more like a simple wedding cake. Don’t believe the hype too much. Overall, it’s a nice steakhouse in Soho with great staff, and I would recommend it.”
