“I’ve heard so much about its early evening menu, which charges £20.16 for three courses in celebration of the restaurant’s 10th anniversary. My friends and I decided to make an early dinner booking on a weekday. The place wasn’t too busy when we arrived, but the tables filled up really quickly. We all chose the 10th anniversary menu, which started with a very refreshing cured trout salad - the trout was thick and the sauce was delicious. The confit duck leg for mains was well-cooked with tender meat; it can get a bit rich, but the green beans and cherries balanced it out. Finally, the highlight was the raspberry Bakewell, which has a crumbly almond top and just the right amount of sweetness and tartness, accompanied by light cream on top - just the perfect way to end a lovely evening. The soft drink was refreshing, and we all loved the thick chips. Attentive service and an overall enjoyable meal! I’d be interested to see the August menu and revisit the restaurant again!”

“3 courses for £20 was an absolute bargain in Central London, and most importantly the quality of the food wasn’t compromised at all. The portions were on the smaller side, so bigger eaters might find them a little light, but they were just right for me. Everything was beautifully cooked and elegantly presented, and my personal favourite was the strawberry Pavlova! Staff were extremely patient and friendly as well. We had a reservation for 5:45pm, and although the restaurant became increasingly busy as the evening went on, they kindly allowed us to stay until 8:30pm without ever making us feel rushed or pressured to leave. We were here for the anniversary menu, but would definitely come back for à la carte!”

“Had a really wonderful dining experience with my friend today to celebrate her starting a new job. Staff were very warm and welcoming. We had the June 10 Years of Clipstone set menu and ordered Nettle tagliatelle with morel mushrooms on the side, and Strawberry and Rhubarb Iced Tea for our drinks. The food was all round exquisite. Beef tatare gave us a bright start of the meal, flavourful, light despite the egg yolk foam/cream’s richness. The nettle tagliatelle was cooked to perfect al dente, and the morel mushrooms stole the show, each bite was an explosion of savoury, umami broth. The roasted lamb was to die for, (and thank you to the staff who gave us a little surprise extra cut!). Each different cut of lamb is a standalone stunner. I would pay anything to experience the bite from the crisped up fat to the tender meat, over and over again, the jus and wild garlic compliments the lamb really well. As someone who grew up with cooked vegetables as a norm with high standards of veggie prep, those were some of one of the best asparagus I have ever had, tender with a good crunch, and you could taste the natural sweetness of the vegetable. I regret for mustering the courage to order some sourdough to clean up the plate. The strawberry pavlova with yoghurt and elderflower was a beautiful, light ending. The burst of bright and sweet strawberry mellowed into the whipped yoghurt Chantilly cream and crisp meringue with marshmallow-like inside, the elderflower floral notes is subtle but really adds to the bite, it’s almost like I was eating an edible perfume (in a very good way). Last but not least, really appreciate the soft drink options provided, the iced tea was refreshing, sweet, tart, and had some herb notes I love. “We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our dinner here. The lamb was so tender that we were even trying to guess what cut of meat it was — absolutely delicious. The beef tartare was also a big surprise. The flavor was excellent, and the beef was incredibly fresh. The fries were amazing as well — great with the mayonnaise or even on their own. So happy that our first meal in London was at this place. Highly recommended! ✨”

“Really popular restaurant. Only managed to book a table outdoor (during heatwave). Would definitely come back again to try the other menu and hopefully can get a seat indoor. Staff are really nice and friendly. They explained the menu and recommended what is good to pair with the dishes even we only tried the ten years anniversary set menu. I love the sauce of the beef tartare. The roast lamb is outstanding with the crispy skin and tender meat.”
