Lakeside

“This is the 2nd time we have been to the Lakeside. The 1st time we thought it was fantastic, so we wanted to give it a second try. This was absolute perfection, when everything comes together for an unbeatable evening. The food was brilliant, creative amd full of flavour. We frequent Michelin starred restaurants, and it is rare that all dishes are exceptional. This was the case yesterday. The wine pairing was also perfectly matching, with selections that weren't easy or obvious, but fitted beautifully with the meal. And then we have the service. Very friendly, smiley and very attentive without any glitch whatsoever. You could sense that all were on top of everything, simply perfect. In addition, the pace was very good, with no long wait times between dishes. We have tried many top end restaurants, also in Hamburg. I can genuinely say that the Lakeside stands out in Hamburg, far superior than other perhaps more renowned restaurants. We will be back, even if it means a 500 km trip from where we live. Congratulations to the Chef, Sommelier and the full staff! We were exceptionally happy with this evening!”

“This restaurant was good, but did not meet my expectations. I have been to fabulous restaurants all over the world, but this was disappointing for me. I have had much better meals at restaurants with much less accolades. If I was to describe this restaurant with one word it would be interesting, but not delicious or fabulous.”
