“I came for dinner with a friend. We had a reservation for 5:15 Our table wasn’t ready so we went to the bar and had a cocktail while we waited. 10 minutes later I got the text our table was ready. The food was great, service was wonderful. The staff were all so friendly. I can’t wait to come back!”

“A date night STAPLE. Service was incredible the food was superb and everything was hot, tasty, and fresh. I’m amazed at the execution being so new. Kudos to the team, especially our server, Zara! We came on a busy Saturday around 4:45, we were seated within 15 mins of our reservation but the bar area was open for anyone to sit or grab a drink.”

“We had such an awesome experience at Night Hawk at the new The Baby Grand! The aesthetic is very eclectic and inline with the whimsy of CH’s Lafayette. A huge shoutout to our server, Christian B.; the service at the restaurant was excellent from start to finish, and the sommelier gave perfect recommendations. The Secondhand Paradise cocktail was delicious, the Greek wine selection was unique, and the babaghanoush and the scallops were one of our favorite dishes of the night. If I had one recommendation, I would probably skip the carrots next time and go for the watermelon salad or one of the skewers selections instead. We also spent time at the Baby Grand bar afterwards and really enjoyed it. I had the Late Summer Swim and also tried Champagne Problems, and both were excellent. One thing worth noting is that bar service is definitely slower right now. But honestly, they are brand new and clearly understaffed, and none that is the employees’ fault. If you’ve ever worked in the service industry, you know that the struggle is real. I’d say if you’re of the particular variety, give this place three months to sort out their kinks and then make a reservation (which I would say is a must for the restaurant and speakeasy). Overall, really excited to see Night Hawk and Baby Grand settle into the neighborhood. We’ll definitely be back!”

“Night Hawk brings the same lively, stylish atmosphere that makes the The Lafayette Hotel such a wildly popular destination. Atmosphere makes you feel like you’re a movie star in the middle of a scene. Loved the specialty cocktails and the food was delivered within a timely manner, everything considered. That being said, I hope the future can bring some better, more flavorful tastes to the menu as some of the plates I tried fell a little short for the Mediterranean style. The staff is clearly working nonstop and doing everything they can to accommodate the constant crowds, and you can tell the team genuinely cares about creating a great experience. It feels less like a service issue and more like the challenges that come with opening an incredibly popular new spot. I think a little extra support from the owners during these first few weeks/month or 2 would probably go a long way. If you’re planning to come for dinner, reservations are absolutely necessary. Without one, plan to arrive 2–3 hours before you hope to eat and have a backup plan ready in case they’re unable to seat you.”

“Booked a table here through OpenTable for my birthday brunch. We arrived right at 10 AM, and despite there only being a few people there, it still took about 10 minutes for anyone to seat us. They were also still drilling tables and setting things up, so the restaurant definitely did not feel fully prepared yet. Although they advertise brunch, there actually wasn’t a brunch menu available, so we ended up ordering from the dinner menu. They were also out of several items including the chicken and shrimp skewers, watermelon salad, and a few other dishes. On top of that, they were out of three cocktails. The kofta croquettes were also labeled as lamb, but they were actually beef. For a higher-end restaurant during its grand opening weekend, I honestly expected things to be a little more organized. A soft opening probably would’ve helped work out a lot of these issues beforehand. What we ordered: • Tzatziki: Served with two large, warm pita breads. Delicious and a great way to start the meal. • Kofta Croquettes: These were actually beef, not lamb as advertised. There were four of them, and the dipping sauce was nice, but overall they lacked flavor. • Beet and Goat Cheese Salad: Light, refreshing, and probably my favorite food item we tried. I think there may have been persimmons in it alongside the beets, and whatever the fruit was, it worked really well. • Beef Tenderloin Skewers: Tasty overall, though slightly overcooked. • Bucatini: Light with a nice flavor, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the food was just mediocre. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. The drinks, however, completely stole the show. I would honestly come back just for the cocktails. • Jungle Bird: Absolutely incredible. One of the best drinks we tried. Light, refreshing, unique, and hard to describe in the best way possible. • Spanakopita Punch: Easily the best cocktail of the night. You could really taste the dill, and it was smooth, unique, and extremely well-balanced. • House Guest: Good tequila cocktail, but nowhere near as memorable as the other two. They also didn’t do anything special for my birthday, which was a little disappointing considering I specifically booked a birthday brunch reservation. The entire experience also took about three hours from arrival to leaving, which felt way too long for brunch. Our waiter was kind, and the food itself came out at reasonable times, but overall service was very slow. To be fair, they had only been open for two days, so we weren’t expecting perfection. That said, the space itself is absolutely adorable. Based on the decor and layout, I was expecting more of a Mexican-inspired concept, so the Mediterranean menu was definitely a surprise. Overall: beautiful restaurant, okay food, incredible cocktails, but they still have some major growing pains to work through.”
