“My bf and i had a wonderful anniversary here! The black cod, crispy rice, wagyu tacos, and lamb were wonderful. The pina margarita and passion mango cocktails were strong and tasty. Everything came out quickly even though it was a Saturday evening. Our server, Ke’Ante made the experience super fun and was extremely attentive and kind. Ask for Ke’Ante if you come here!!”
“We spent a weekend here in early October for my birthday. My wife, who is allergic to seafood, knows I love sushi, so this was the obligatory stop. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Everything we ordered was excellent. And yes, they do have options for non-fish eaters. We shared the edamame. I stuck with some sashimi dishes off the Cold menu, the Yellowtail Jalapeno and the Tai Sweet Shiso. Just wow! So buttery, and absolutely delicious! I stuck with non-alcoholic this evening, and ordered the Coco Shiso. Fantastic drink! If you go here, you must try one of these, I loved it! Be sure to get reservations, they book quickly. The hostess isn't much help. We tried walking up around 7-8pm and were denied... Then walked away, booked on Opentable and were seated within 10 minutes. I will definitely try this place again.”
“If I hadn’t eaten at Juniper & Ivy the night before, I probably would have rated Nobu Coronado much higher. The food was very good—my husband’s entrée was excellent, mine was absolutely delicious, and both the cocktail and mocktail were well done. Unfortunately, we requested a shaded outdoor table but were seated in full sun within minutes, despite other shaded tables appearing to be available. My husband had to wear his hat just to shield his eyes. Service also felt disconnected. My husband’s entrée arrived about five minutes before mine, and when my dish arrived, it was simply fish with no vegetables or accompaniments. We later learned the menu is intended to be ordered family-style, but this was never explained to us, nor were any side dishes suggested. Good food, but for the price point and reputation, I expected better communication and a more polished dining experience.”
“My first visit to a NOBU. It was nice. I think nice would be the word. Excellent it was not. It was expensive and unwarrantedly so. I kept thinking the whole time we were seated that it’s what the Cheesecake Factory would be if they were in the business of Japanese fare. Nonetheless, I did enjoy it. It just wasn’t worth the price and way overhyped. I should note, our server was wonderful. You pay for the name.”
“I had high expectations for Nobu given the reputation, but unfortunately the service really took away from the experience. The food itself was well prepared but nothing that could make up for how we were treated throughout the meal. Our server came across as somewhat rude and a bit condescending when we asked a couple questions about the menu. It felt like we were being rushed at times and that our presence was more of an inconvenience than anything else. For a place that positions itself as a high-end dining experience, the level of hospitality just didn’t match. Overall, the food was solid, but the service left a lot to be desired. At this price point, you expect to feel welcomed and taken care of, and unfortunately that wasn’t the case here.”
