“Oberlin is A great dining experience. Excellent place for a fun night out or for a fancy celebration dinner. My wife and I love to go here for our anniversary. They are always so accommodating and friendly and always remember to say happy anniversary to us. It's the little things. Our recent trip was just as great as always. We sat outside which is nice on a warm evening. But if you are sat inside, it's just as nice if not a better experience. The ambiance there is great And you can see the working kitchen and wood fired oven which I always love. The menu is complex and unique. I highly recommend asking the waiter or waitress about the items you are interested in because their knowledge of these unique dishes is exceptional. My wife and I usually get pasta which always blows us away, we find ourselves trying new things. If you're an eat, anything type of person or feeling adventurous, this is definitely the place for you. They're mocktails drinks and desserts are also fantastic. The night we were there they had movie night in the courtyard which was fun and made for a lively experience. We will continue to go back to Oberlin.”
“Thanks to the fam! Had an amazing experience at @Oberlin_pvd The food was absolutely outstanding—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What really impressed me was their incredible wine collection, with so many excellent options to pair perfectly with the meal. The atmosphere, service, and attention to detail made the entire experience unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great dining experience!”
“Food was fenomenal. Fluke crudo and the scallops were the best I’ve eaten in years. Service 10/10. The manager even wrote down some Providence recs for me to check out since I was visiting. The ambience is such a vibe too! I came by myself but looks ideal for a date night.”
“WOW! In town for a conference and came here for a late dinner, upon a recommendation from a local. Overall, this is a very impressive creative and high quality restaurant in downtown Providence. Although raw seafood offerings are prominent, there are many other options, seafood and pasta themed. The attentiveness and energy of the staff were noticeable and refreshing. People there clearly enjoyed their jobs and were happy to be making and serving such high quality food. We sat at the kitchen table, which is a high top counter right next to the wood fired oven (still comfortable), and within direct view of the kitchen staff doing their jobs. The staff were focused but still engaging, and interacting with them was a delight. The food itself is creative new American with whole fish as a highlight. My dining partner and I sampled a number of dishes including the marinated Maine mussels with sweet potato chips (must try), crudo, olives (both solid) and a terrific whole roasted fluke with sides. The food itself was perfectly cooked and the service was flawless. I would go out of my way to return to Providence just to come to Oberlin!”
“Incredibly disappointing meal. I had such high hopes - the atmosphere was warm and bustling and service was pleasant, but as soon as the food started coming out everything was lacking. The sesame focaccia was flat and oily then served with more oil - we had one bite and couldn’t eat another bite. Caesar salad was nice, a bit too acidic but the textures were fine. Carrot & mascarpone anolini pasta was the only redeeming dish, pillow-y bursts of flavor. Cacio e pepe was another disappointment, lacked flavor and overall a boring dish. We came into this meal excited and ready to try the desserts - but after the mains, we were ready to leave. Side note - we sat at the counters next to the open kitchen and the entire meal, we were front row to very aggressive language and conversation between two chefs/cooks, we were concerned the female was being bullied. Wanted to love Oberlin so badly! Hope to see some much-needed improvement.”
