Olivine is Grand Wailea's oceanfront culinary destination where the natural bounty of Maui is perfectly paired with the art of coastal Italian cuisine. Named for the green mineral that produces the gemstone known as the “Hawaiian diamond,” Olivine’s rustic open-air interior incorporates the striking hues of this mineral, inviting diners to gather both day and night in an al fresco setting framed by large open windows with sweeping sky, pool, and ocean views.
“Wow! The spaghetti pomodoro is one of the best pastas we've ever tried! We went back three times in our three night stay. The pasta was freshly made and we couldn't get enough. Service was very fast as well. We would return great distances just for the pasta!”
“Had a great lunch here while we waited for our room. The spaghetti with the meatballs added were so good. Not pictured was the sausage pizza - amazing with really good crust. Thank you to April for taking care of us, she was awesome.”
“Went to Olivine for lunch during our stay at the Grand Wailea. Easily accessible from the resort grounds or the beachfront walkway. Handicap accessible through a ramp at the entrance. We were seated immediately (had a reservation though), but it wasn't very busy at noon. Nice, stylish atmosphere, warm colors in an airy space. Great views of the pool area and the ocean front. Beautiful. Welcoming, attentive and friendly waitress took our orders, dishes were served quickly at a perfect pace. Food was nicely plated, very tasty. Very good quality overall, but not at an exceptional level. Only disappointment was the limoncello dessert with dragon fruit jelly, bland taste, almost no lemon flavor and too sweet, hence only 4 star rating. Resort prices unsurprisingly, but well priced in general. The daily resort F&B credit can be used here. Recommended, would definitely return! Tip: the bill is coded as Grand Wailea Resort, choose wisely which credit card to use. Double tip by making a reservation via Open Table.”
“I was very disappointed with my dish. The red wine reduction sauce was incredibly strong and abundant, so I couldn’t even taste the truffles in the mashed potatoes. It wasn’t a great value for the price.”
“This place shouldn't be a part of the Grand Wailea resort. My family and I were excited to try this restaurant. The disappointment started right from the beginning when we walked in. There was nobody at the host stand to greet us. Eventuality someone from the staff checked with us and mentioned that we have to wait for our table. The restaurant was half empty and were one of the last resys for the night. How do I know that?.... because our resy was for 8pm and the restaurant closes at 9pm. Once we got seated water was offered and than nothing for about 15 min. Afterwards a staff member approached us and mentioned that our server will be with us shortly. Finally our server came and took our order. As a starters we got the bread service and the burrata with heirloom tomatoes. We love burrata and we always get it when a restaurant offers it. Unfortunately this was one of the worst quality cheese we ever had. Not to mention that the stems of the tomato were not clean off properly, the balsamic glaze was fermented and the basil was not existing. Instead we had some micro greans on top. Had to ask for salt and pepper to add some flavor into the salad. For our main we got wagyu bolognese, lobster pasta and a half chicken. This is when the bad turn to worse. The bolognese sauce was drenched in oil and just slopped over a boiled boxed pasta.( see pics for refference). My daughter tried to fix the flavor by adding a parm cheese which was probably bought from a supermarket up the street. Nothing authentic about that cheese. The "star" of the night was the lobster tail. I was not even sure if it was a lobster meat. It was super tough and chewy. There was zero flavor. The butter was not existing but yet on the menu is clearly stating "butter poached". My wife was not happy with her plate and send it back. The waitress offered to change the protein of the dish and we decided to try the catch of the day. Another disappointment. The fish was overcooked with 0 seasoning. At this point our experience was ruined to the point of no return. No one from the management team came and checked on us either. I don't understand how you can run a successful business without caring about your guest's experience or you just don't care because you have all tourists which come and go. We don't mind spending $60 or a $80 for a dish bit please bring us a good quality food like your neighboring restaurants like Nobu or Humuhumu.”
