DANIEL DEL PRADO Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Chef Daniel del Prado is the child of parents of Spanish and southern Italian descent. After moving to the United States in his early 20s, del Prado began his culinary career in Colorado—cooking at night and snowboarding during the day. Upon moving to Minneapolis, he had the opportunity to work in some of the finest kitchens in the Twin Cities. In 2009 del Prado teamed up with his mentor, Isaac Becker, to open Bar La Grassa in the North Loop. When it came time for del Prado to open his own concepts, he burst onto the Twin Cities scene with his premiere Linden Hills restaurant, Martina, and opened the Oaxacan Mexican-influenced Colita just a year after. Chef del Prado has continued to open new and innovative concepts.
“I can’t remember the last time I was genuinely excited about a meal, but this gem of a restaurant completely changed that. From the first bite to the last, every dish was absolutely incredible and reminded me how surprisingly unique and delicious food can be. What impressed me just as much was the service. Even though the restaurant was completely packed, everything ran incredibly smoothly. Attentive and welcoming service from everyone we interacted with and our food came out delightfully fast without sacrificing quality, which was impressive to see. Our waiter was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and more than happy to answer every question we had. For a higher-end restaurant, it is common to get a snippy or snooty response when asking for a suggestion , but he offered thoughtful and clever recommendations from the menu, and every suggestion was spot on. It’s clear that the staff truly care about creating a great experience for their guests that goes beyond just the food. Between the exceptional food, beautiful service, and charming and handsome atmosphere, this was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. Can’t wait to come back.”
“My friend's engagement event was held upstairs with a 3-course menu. The service was polite, prompt, and warm. For appetizers, I enjoyed the rich-flavored empanadas and burrata. I wouldn't order the ensalata again. The Prime Entrana with chimichurri was to come back for- scrumptious. For deserts the Basque goat cheesecake and Chocotorta were decadent.”
“Modern and classic all in one, is how I’d describe Porzana. This was a great dining experience overall. The decor, vibe and the friendly staff all provided a warm welcome. Enjoyed Easter brunch with my sons and an elderly family friend, seated upstairs near a sunny south-facing window in the corner, allowing easier conversation. Our sever was very attentive and the fare was excellent - very fresh, colorful, flavorful and beautifully plated. I will to return for dinner soon and dine downstairs.”
“Truly an unbelievable dinner!! Got a reservation about two weeks in advance for our group of 4 for a Friday night. We got 8pm and it was just perfect. We were told that the mussels were a must get, and I can not restate this enough. The mussels are a MUST GET. They were unbelievable and SOOO many mussels. Our waiter Andy was truly outstanding. We really aren’t picky eaters and we just asked Andy to assemble dishes for us to get a good tasting of the menu while staying in a certain budget and he exceeded it. We had the sweet corn agnolotto and it was truly out of this world. Just truly loved this dish. Creamy, flavorful and so perfect. We had a few Argentinian steaks and the one was Gorgonzola cream was truly incredible. You just get the papas bravas and the mushrooms were just delicious as well. If you are a vegetarian, you will have sooooo many options here that are so satisfying. You can not skip dessert, the gelato was our favorite. The wine selection is incredible. Again — this spot was just incredible. HUGE shoutout to Andy F , he curated the best dishes and made the night so special.”
“Came in expecting a great meal, but what I experienced felt far more intentional than just dining out. From the pacing to the execution, everything flowed in a way that made the night feel curated, not rushed. We ordered the grain-fed ribeye with chimichurri, mushrooms, Caesar salad with fried oysters, lobster pasta, a Torina cocktail, and ended with the chocolate gelato. Every dish came out well-paced and thoughtfully prepared. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, rich and flavorful, and the chimichurri gave it just the right lift. The mushrooms were deeply savory, the Caesar with fried oysters was a nice touch, and the lobster pasta was balanced in a way that didn’t feel heavy. The chocolate gelato to finish was exactly what it needed to be. Rich, smooth, and satisfying without overdoing it. I paired my meal with a glass of Arnot-Roberts Cab Sauvignon (Sonoma 2023), and Tim confirmed it was the best choice for what we ordered. He was very personable, knew the menu well, and made the experience feel easy. Service overall was on point. The table was cleared and reset between courses, which kept everything feeling clean and intentional without interrupting the flow. The space itself is upscale casual with an industrial feel, exposed brick, warm, comfortable, the kind of place you can settle into. We spent about $250 for three people and shared everything, and it felt well worth it for the quality and experience. I value intention when I dine out, and this felt like a restaurant that understands how to build a full experience, not just serve food. If they maintain this level of consistency, I will absolutely be back the next time I’m in Minnesota.”
