“Beautiful restaurant with lots of ethnic charm and décor that you can’t miss the moment you walk in. The space is impressively large, much bigger than most Asian restaurants I’ve visited in New York City. We ordered Tom Yum seafood hotpot, mii moo tod, beef pad see ew, Panang duck lychee, moo krob, and a couple of vegetable dishes. The Tom Yum hotpot was packed with fresh seafood, and the broth had a great balance of sour, spicy, and sweet. The Panang duck lychee was wonderful. I never had duck in a Thai restaurant. The duck breast was so tender in creamy and flavorful curry. The moo krob was excellent too, with crispy skin and moist, tender pork belly. The beef pad see ew had a nice smoky wok flavor. The service was efficient despite how busy it was. Great variety of Thai and Chinese dishes, and definitely worth coming back to try other items on the menu.”
“The service is impeccable and the drink menu is super creative! All of their cocktails are inspired by different gemstones. I recommend trying the Citrine cocktail if you like tequila. The food was absolutely delicious and I was lucky that my friends and I all got different dishes so we could try more from the menu. I highly recommend the Khao Soi Chicken and the Duck Noodles.”
“Had a delicious meal! We ordered the Woonsen tiger prawn, Boon Fai Dang, and Panang Duck Lychee and the flavors were incredible. We were served by Gabby who was very attentive and welcoming. The restaurant was busy for Valentine's Day but we were not rushed and had excellent service throughout our meal.”
“The food was excellent, but I am giving it 4/5 because the vegetarian options were very limited. The menu only had three vegetarian dishes: 1. Eggplant salad (topped with a poached egg) 2. Spicy sautéed eggplant 3. Massaman curry(quite sweet) They also weren’t willing to modify any of the existing dishes to make them vegetarian🥲 Mango Sundae for dessert was delicious 😋”
“I was excited to try Soothr, but the experience was disappointing. Be prepared for long lines and a very limited selection for vegetarians. Many dishes contain fish or oyster sauce, which significantly reduces the available options if you’re vegetarian. We ordered the mango dessert and the mock soy dish, and both were fairly average and not particularly memorable. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation, I expected more creativity and effort in their vegetarian offerings. I also found communication with the staff difficult at times. It would help if servers had a stronger understanding of English, especially when customers have dietary restrictions and questions about ingredients. Overall, there are better Thai restaurants in NYC for vegetarians. The food didn’t justify the wait, and I left wishing there were more truly vegetarian-friendly options available.”
