R&A Sourdough

“Impeccable service by the R&A team over on Huron. If you want the highest quality sourdough bagels at a very fair price, stop in or order ahead. Ordering inside you have to wait about 10 minutes, but well worth the wait. They are a hot commodity so make sure to order early otherwise they may run out of the ingredients you want (bagel types, schmeers etc.) I got “the youngster” with additional toppings and it threw me against the wall, it was SO GOOD! The cinnamon roll is only available on the weekend, and it was a dream as well. 9.7 out of 10 for me. Could use a bigger space to have seating but they are opening up a spot in Roscoe Village-soon which may cater for walk ups versus the catering service they do on Huron now. With all of that, still a wonderful experience.”

“I ordered the Tuna and the Hipster. Both were packed with flavor. My friend had the tuna so my experience was from one bit but the sourdough bread was fresh and delicious. I had the Hipster and this is going to be my go to order. I did order it on a garlic bagel so I made try different bagels to test out but the seasoning was on point. I live near the Huron location and I'm happy to have a go to spot.”

“I’ve loved this place in the past and previously rated it five stars, but recent orders have fallen short/ have been wrong. Today, with two custom sandwiches, I received a sesame bagel with cream cheese instead of the plain bagel with butter and muenster I ordered. Unfortunately, I can’t eat sesame seeds, so I’ll have to take the loss on this order .. again. I hope this is a temporary dip, as the quality has historically been much higher.”

“The bagels are good and the service was quick. I think it was only quick because I didn’t get what I ordered which was upsetting when I got home. I ordered the egg and smear with a sweet potato latke toasted and received a non toasted bagel with a whole container worth of smear, no egg, no latke. The long dark hair I pulled out of the smear was also not appetizing.”

“We went to the river west location and were the only ones there when Initially ordering. We were told it would be a 10 mins wait for our sandwiches and stood there waiting 40 mins. I ordered the youngster with an asiago bagel and hot sauce on the side, and I received a jalapeño cheddar bagel with no hot sauce on the side (pictured below, I did not realize this till getting home and opening everything up). On top of waiting 40 mins when told 10 mins my order was incorrect and I feel the staff did nothing to make up for the wait time when telling us it would only be 10 mins. I mentioned to the employee it would help to inform people prior to ordering to tell them it would take 40 mins so we are not expecting 10 mins and he said “well take your feedback into consideration” and abruptly walked away after handing me the food. If I was told the correct wait time to begin with or compensated with a pastry or discounted sandwich for next time to show they care about their customers and felt bad for for the wait time/sandwich mistakes I would of been less upset but nothing was acknowledged and I felt the staff did not care. I understand places get busy but they need to be upfront about wait times to show respect to their customers and their time. The sandwiches were very good but unfortunately will not be back due to this.”
