“Absolutely fabulous food, atmosphere, service. The Napa Cabbage, Dan Dan Noodles, and dumplings were our favorite, but we couldn’t complain about a single thing. We had a crowd of all different ages, there was something for all of us & the family-style dining was so fun so we could all try everything! Food comes out fast and hot, service was lovely — she was so knowledgable, helpful, and checked on us plenty to make sure we were all set. Highly recommend!”
“Delicious Chinese and Thai fusion restaurant that would be comparable to California and New York standards. I highly recommend ordering rice because the foods can be a bit salty. Quality ingredients, but as mentioned a tad salty and heavy on the mala numbing spice. Parking was easy in the shared lot, and we were able to get bar seating at opening. Food- 4.5 stars bison mapo tofu- this was excellent. definitely order rice with this dish and be aware of the extra mala numbing spice on it lamb dumplings- this was pretty standard but tasted fresh and housemade Beijing cucumber salad- this was pretty standard but tasted fresh and housemade Dan dan noodles- pretty good Lazi-ji chicken wings- these were perfectly fried and the wings were juicy and fresh. It also was overwhelmingly spicy though, so be careful Sticky tamarind ribs- these were phenomenal. Best dish of the night and I would come back for it Tres leches cake- pretty good way to end the night Service- 4.5 stars Food came out quickly and the servers and bartenders were really attentive. Only hiccup was that the waiter forgot to put in one of our orders which caused a long delay Bottom Line Excellent Asian restaurant especially if you're craving Asian flavors. The tamarind ribs are a must”
“My husband and I traveled from Bigfork to Bozeman for a multi-day work trip and were able to make a dinner reservation at Shan to celebrate his birthday during our stay. We enjoyed lazy-ji chicken wings (my personal favorite), local sun-dried pork, dan dan noodle (my husband's favorite), lamb dumplings, chicken khao soi, and a phoney negroni. Thank you, Ryan, for your excellent service and making our dining experience enjoyable. On my previous work-trip last Fall, I was fortunate to dine next to local Alex Hrabovsky, whom I thank for my first positive experience and influencing me to return each and every visit. Cheers to supporting local, eating well, and making meaningful memories.”
“Such an incredible restaurant here in Bozeman. Please do make a rez in advance as the seats fill up FAST because the food is so brilliant. If only two people and you don’t mind the bar, sit there! Grace is phenomenal and such a wonderful bartender! Get the Lamb Dumplings, Hot & Sour Beef soup and the Beef Panang Curry. You won’t be disappointed. Tell Grace “Mammoth” sent you and maybe she’ll give you a wink!”
“We weren’t expecting to find these bold Asian flavors in Montana but not only did we find it, it was executed so well and at such good value for the price point, that it blew our minds! We had the green curry, bison mapo, nahm tok angus steak, and the sticky ribs. The meat quality here is top notch; most of these dishes elsewhere can be tough or grisly or fatty but not here. Spice level was perfect for us. All of these dishes were so good that we’d eat anything this kitchen staff makes! So with that in mind, even though we were so full, we HAD to get the coconut pandan tres leches cake and boy were we glad we did. The cream topping was light and refreshing, pairing perfectly with a properly soaked through cake. The coconut topping was also light and crumbly, not woody like we’ve had at other places. Exceptional attention to detail showing through. Thanks to Heather for her service, which was friendly and just right. Nice space that was a bit confusing to find but not a real issue. Fantastic value… much better quality food for the price we paid here than anywhere else!”
