“Being a frequent at Ardor, we couldn’t wait to try Sloane. Excellent experience this past Friday. We were seated promptly, our server was attentive throughout the evening. We had beef tartare app- very good. Filet Oscar entree- flavors were incredible. Better than anything I’ve had in the area- hands down. And lemon merengue baked Alaska desert was equally delicious. This place is on another level! Love what this group has brought to Peoria!”
“Really a great all around experience. A tad pricey but we'll worth it! All of the staff was very friendly. Didn't hover, but were always there at the right time. One very minor complaint - they insist on slicing the steaks before they come to the table. That's fine - I've been to several restaurants globally over the last few years where they do this. The only problem during our visit is that when the steaks came out they were warm, but not close to hot. When we ordered we did ask if they could skip this step, but the kitchen wanted to do it. OK fine - but just make sure it's hot when I get it. Again, a minor detail - you could literally cut the steak with a fork, and it was delicious. Will definitely be back!!”
“I wanted to write a review because I like reading reviews myself, and before we went, I noticed some of the reviews here were quite harsh. I just wanted to note my findings for others who read reviews. One review I read specifically mentioned being seated by the restrooms, but that’s actually not possible since the restrooms aren’t even inside the restaurant. You have to go through a door and down a hallway, and the restrooms are shared with other businesses in the building. The kitchen entrance is near some of the tables, but you can’t really see into it. I also witnessed another customer upset about her seating, and the staff were very kind and happy to accommodate her. We had no issues booking our reservation online. It let us choose what kind of table we preferred, allergies, and note if we were celebrating an occasion. We also received helpful reminder messages beforehand, which I appreciated. Our dining experience was very good from start to finish. Everyone was kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. The food was unique and delicious. For our appetizer, we decided to try something a little lighter than our usual and ordered the relish tray. It was definitely different, but very good if you enjoy vegetables. I actually felt pretty full after the appetizer! I requested a mocktail even though one wasn’t on the menu, and our server was happy to come up with some options. I had a refreshing blood orange and mint mocktail that was wonderful. Our entrées were delicious and cooked perfectly. Since it was my husband’s birthday, we made room for dessert and tried the Baked Alaska it was good! Since we live almost an hour away, this will definitely be a special occasion restaurant for us and one we’d happily return to.”
“The latest Peoria Heights restaurant didn’t disappoint! Delicious dishes, great service and drinks in a trendy minimalist ambience. We loved the Shrimp Toast on Ardor Sourdough, the Beef Stroganoff and the 1/2 Chicken dinners. We’ll be back soon!”
“They opened about a month ago. I made a reservation for 1. It took the host a bit to get my reservation on the books but he finally did. I went the next day. When I arrived, the host who made my reservation, tried to seat me at the bar. I told him no because I don’t want my feet to dangle. He seemed a bit upset that I told him no. Then he placed me in the back of the restaurant by the bathrooms and kitchen. I really didn’t like that. It wasn’t that many people in the restaurant at the time because they just opened. People later came about 20-25 minutes into my reservation. The waitress, Lisa, was kind and knowledgeable of the menu. I started off with a drink, the Crimson Paloma. It would be really good if they didn’t put salt at the bottom of the drink, and it wasn’t like a simple pinch, it was more like two. Mind you it was like the rock salt, which they also rimmed the drink with. I would have wished they would’ve said something before I order, but the drink without the extra salt at the bottom was really good. For the rim, I would prefer a sugar rim. I then ordered an appetizer, the Shrimp DeJonghe Toast. Flavor wise, it was good, more on the lemony/dill side (a bit too much dill), not as garlicy as mentioned to me. The texture is off, There is a wine sauce completely makes the sour dough very soggy. I then ordered the Stake frites with a side of potato puree. I got the steak frites medium well. They came with fried potatoes sticks. The ones I received were burnt and the sauce was super salty, it was a peppercorn type sauce. I had better steak frites. But what saved them from me giving them 2 stars was the Potato Puree. It was the best thing I had. Even though it came out to me cold. It was still good. It literally melts in your mouth, 10/10, best thing they have. Overall, the food was a 3/5, service was a 4/5, but the atmosphere was a 5/5. I probably won’t go back there again.”
