The idea behind Sosie is to imbue our California-grown wines with French soul. That soul has practical implications. It tells us when to pick the fruit and how to treat it in the cellar. But it also has personal meaning. French soul is our idea of how wine ought to be – the role it plays in our lives, how it’s consumed, what it signals. Sosie wines are crafted to be food-friendly: soil driven while showcasing natural acidity, nuanced flavors and firm structure. They are made in small batches with minimal intervention and the lightest touch of oak. “Our aim is to craft wines that show a kinship with the wines of Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire and the Rhone. “I visited the Sosie tasting room about a half a year ago and still remember the wonderful experience and really delicious wines the host suggested for us. She has created such a fun and delightful atmosphere and suggested the best choices for our taste palats. We absolutely love sparkling Rose of Syrah and JSM. We've got several bottles and enjoyed them at home. I highly recommend this charming place. We just opened the last bottle we bought and it reminded as how much did we loved the whole experience. We need to go back to get some more.”

Each pour was introduced with helpful context, making the tasting both educational and enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, and Scott, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable about winemaking and grape varietals, which made the experience even more engaging. “My friend and I had a great tasting here on May 16. She joined the wine club and between the two of us we ordered a case of wine. That was the last we heard of Sosie. No notice the case was shipping. She has emailed twice, I have called twice with no one answering and no response. Their customer service after the sale is quite lacking. Think twice before you order from them ..”
