“One of the most beautiful wineries in the Charlottesville area. Lovingly restored 2-level barn with a restaurant in the top and the tasting room in the bottom. Sweet maturing trees around the outdoor sitting area. Outdoor views are surrounded by grape vines and mountains. A must see vineyard and great spot to relax on a Spring day!”
“I spent 2 hours at Southwest Mountain Winery and was thoroughly impressed. The scenery surrounding the winery is stunning, earning a 4 out of 5 stars. The views from the property are outstanding compared to most out there and added to the overall experience. The facilities are also noteworthy, scoring 4.5 out of 5. The winery has a spacious layout, with an open bar area downstairs serving beer and wine, and a second floor with table service and food options. The division of spaces works well, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Just remember, downstairs does NOT serve food. The staff was friendly and attentive, with the server/bartender Tara provided excellent service and the manager warmly greeting me upon arrival. Given the beautiful views, great drinks, and live music during my visit, I give Southwest Mountain Winery a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. It is a fantastic destination for wine enthusiasts and those looking for a pleasant experience. I will highly recommend stopping by and enjoying the scenery and hospitality.”
“Not quite sure where all the negative reviews are coming from. This is a newer vineyard and winery that has great vibes, lots of space, and beautiful views. It is a little nicer than a lot of the other vineyards around but I really enjoyed my time here. My wife and I got bottle of the Viognier and really enjoyed it. We also got the spinach and artichoke dip as well as the turkey panini - the dip was fantastic but the panini I wouldnt get again. After we ate we took our wine down to the fountain and enjoyed their outdoor area, no complaints at all!”
“If I can give it zero stars, I would. Came in and was greeted by a server with the worst attitude. A party of five willing to eat and spend money on wine and we were treated like third world civilians. We were asked to move from the bar area we ordered our food and flights. After I ordered my food, I was told it was the wrong menu and it was snatched from my hand!!! We were then denied an open table because it as “reserved for wine members”. When we spoke to the manager he insisted they don’t reserve tables for wine members. Since we were treated like crap, they don’t care about customers and would not recommend this vineyard for new customers.”
