“I've been to Veritas a few times over the past few years, usually on a Trolley Tour from Crozet but over Mother's Day weekend, I made a trip here with my daughter and we absolutely loved our visit. We had an early reservation on the porch where we had a wonderful flight of reds and a delicious lunch. Our server was friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere was great, the wines were fantastic and we had a terrific time. We will most definitely be back.”

“Beautiful winery. We did the Table tasting Classic flight for $30. Wine was good. I recommend you try to go during the week because they get very crowded on the weekend!”

“Just fabulous. From the moment you walk in they make you feel welcome. They go beyond with their attentive service. The turkey sandwich is delicious and the wine is good, particularly the Claret. Views and grounds are beautiful.”

“October 20, 2025 - How’s your LATIN ? “ In Vino Veritas” . . . In wine, truth ! My kind of place! 😃👍
Since moving from Maine , my wife & I are exploring Virginia’s wineries . . . We agree the weather and soil conditions greatly favor VA wineries! Today’s choice . . . Veritas established by Andrew & Patricia , with daughter Emily ( Expert Winemaker) in 1999!
Over 60 acres nestled in the Afton region along the Nelson 151 Trail next to the Blue Ridge & Shenandoah Mountains! A fantastic autumn day, crisp , and sunny as we sampled both the reds & whites ! We like to include a charcuterie board with our wines, and call it lunch or dinner😃
There’s a large tasting gallery in a modern barn setup, but we enjoy the scenery and preferred a table on the brick patio overlooking the firepits, lawn chairs, and vineyards . . . against the mountain backdrop!
You select your wines from their menu, there’s a choice of several whites , reds, and sparkling wines. According to their website there’s sandwiches, wraps, snacks, salads, and desserts. ( Gluten free bread too)
Good news, award winning 🥇VA Governor’s Cup wines are featured ! We sampled Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, Momentararius white, Viogner, Veritas Reserve, etc. We both enjoy the full bodied dry red wines, I also like the white wines ! From 2025 to 2016 . . . I counted 23 Gold wine winners, and 48 Silver wine winners , with 1 Bronze wine winner by the Veritas Winery! VA Governor Cup Awards
Check out their website for opportunities & events throughout the year!

“Sweet spot to hang out and try some wine! They have a very large outdoor seating space as well as a cute indoor space but seating there is more limited. They weren’t super helpful really busy even near closing time the day we came so we didn’t really get to inquire much about the wines/winery itself which is something we enjoy doing. The wines we had were great along with the hummus board!”
