“Absolutely loved our experience. Wines were amazing, service was great, vibe in Fernwood is so chill. Food was good… not great. Lots of potential to be great; presentation is nice, portions are reasonable, but of the many dishes we had, too many of them were just mediocre. Loved our time and will definitely be back.”

“This is by far my favourite restaurant in Victoria. To even compare it is in insult. Its better than most restaurants in Vancouver. The moment I stepped foot in the door I felt transported to another place entirely. They do it all. Want a burger and a beer for happy hour? No problem. Want a three course menu designed by the chef? You got it. Want the world's best dirty Martini? Its yours. Tonight I got to witness the aplomb and composure of a bartender dealing with an extremely rude patron and it reminded me that hospitality professionals do not get the recognition they deserve so I hopped on my keyboard to do something about it. Its unfortunate that unhappy people think that they get to treat others however they see fit. Back to whats important though. Food is incredible. Service is personalized and friendly. The bartender even makes his own vermouth and liqueurs. David and the team are really doing something special here. Please, if you get the opportunity, do NOT miss out on Bistrot L'Stage.”

“Love love LOVE this place!!! Maybe we are world class orderers but everything was outstanding on our most recent visit. I was going to say the Big Mac Tartare is a must (and it is!) but everything we got is a must!! The Cheese + Cornichon sounds basic but it anything but! Tuna crudo, pasta bolognese & celeriac risotto are likely not staples so i’m thrilled we got to experience them. Our cocktails were also amazing. I ordered the Tuxedo #2 and the way they serve it is incredible! One of the best cocktail experiences i’ve had. Lastly, our server was fantastic! Above and beyond! (4 stars for atmosphere only cos it got very loud in there with a large table.)”

“Had an incredible meal at Stage tonight. The food, the vibe, everything just hit perfectly. I went with the steak and half chicken combo, and wow — both were cooked beautifully. The steak had that perfect sear and came out tender and flavourful, while the half chicken was juicy with a crisp, golden skin. The dirty martini was spot on: chilled, balanced, and exactly the kind of martini you hope for but don’t always get. Fries came out hot and crunchy, the kind that disappear way too fast. The bread was warm and fresh — simple but honestly so good. And the sour burrata was a standout: creamy, tangy, and plated with the kind of care that makes you slow down for the first few bites. Stage just delivers. Great food, great execution, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to.”

“Vibes were incredible and service was wonderfully attentive. We did the Dine Around menu and had were slightly underwhelmed by the food. I expected to be blow away, since the menu was $65 per person. The appetizer salad was unique and great! The tuna appetizer tasted too fishy for us, and we usually love raw fish. I was so glad that we got different entrees, because having only one would have felt incomplete. The risotto was yummy, but I wouldn't have wanted an entire plate of it. I was happy to balance it out with the chicken, which also would have been too much on its own. The cheesecake was INCREDIBLE!! I would definitely come back to Stage, but would order off the main menu.”
