“A unique restaurant, my wife and I had a great dinner and great experience here. To start, we had a couple cocktails: the Nicolas Flamel and the Theory of Forms. The Nicolas Flamel was good, a slightly spicy margarita. The Theory of Forms was great, with sugary foam, it was like a dessert. Liked it so much, I got it as my second drink. For dinner I had the pork chops and my wife had the Buratta plate. I think she liked hers, but there wasn't much to it. My pork chops were really good. Panko crusted with two big pork chops. Not something I would normally get, but they said it was one of the favorites there and they were right. Finally for dessert, we had the Bruleed Banana Split. That was one of the best desserts we have ever had. Really, really good. Our server was Michelle and she was great. Spent a lot of time with us explaining the various options. Very friendly and helpful.”
“First time visiting Paso Robles and while I was excited for the vineyards, I definitely needed a break from wine - and The Alchemist’s Garden was exactly what I was looking for. This place was recommended by the group I was with (they’ve done this trip a few times), and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We ended up coming back three separate times during our trip… which pretty much says everything. The vibe is perfect - cozy, speakeasy-ish, and the kind of place you can just post up belly-up at the bar and stay awhile. Great energy without being over the top. From the moment we walked in, the service stood out. Aubrey set the tone right away - super welcoming and made us feel like regulars from the start. Behind the bar, Matt and Justice were incredible. You can tell they take pride in what they’re doing, and it shows in every drink. Honestly, the entire crew is a big reason we kept coming back. Drinks were top-tier: • Bourbon Flip • Espresso Martini • Old Fashioned • Sazerac • And a specialty cocktail with honey cold foam that was so good we literally came back just for it Everything was well-balanced, creative, and consistently on point across all three visits. If you’re in Paso Robles and want a break from wine or just appreciate a really well-crafted cocktail in a great atmosphere, this place is a must. Definitely on my “always stop here” list moving forward.”
“We had a fantastic dinner at Alchemists' Garden! The steak was cooked perfectly, and the holiday cocktails were absolutely wonderful—creative and delicious. A huge thank you to our server, Valentina, for the amazing service. She made our night extra special. Highly recommend stopping by!”
“We were looking for a spot to have dinner and came across this one. The menu was intriguing since it had such a wide variety of food items and a good chunk of veggie forward dishes and season items that rotate. It was a busy Saturday night but we were able to be sat at the bar right away. The decorations of the restaurant ranged from whimsical to silly, with Christmas displays up for the holiday. The menu was a little booklet that was mostly different fun "alchemist" style drinks. When we got our drink, it came in a wooden box that was opened and steamed poured out. It was difficult to decide what to order, but the seasonal item of duck prosciutto wrapped dates was mentioned and we had to get that. That was probably my favorite food item from our weekend trip! Staff was friendly and checked on us often. Food came out quickly and was beautiful presented. I would go back to try other items on the menu. Of course, if we went back on a busy weekend we'd make a reservation next time. Great place for a celebration, as it had a louder, busier vibe. But also a good place for a date and some drinks.”
“The atmosphere was very nice. I like the outside seating. We ordered the grilled chicken. I enjoyed the flavors but is was luke warm. I was disappointed that they charged me $2 for hot sauce. This is the first time I've experienced a restaurant charging for hot sauce. I most likely will not go back.”
