Since its inception in 1988, The Mad Greek has become a Lawrence institution. The restaurant was founded by George and Peggy Kritos, whose commitment to quality Greek and Italian cuisine brought over two decades of success and economy to Massachusetts Street. In 2014 the Mad Greek was passed to long time family friends Deb and Theo Tagtalianidis, who promised the same passion and consistency as the Kritos family, while adding a Tagtalianidis flare. “Wonderful authentic Greek and Italian cuisine. The ambiance is cozy. For one of the specialties, the waitress carries it out, calling, "Hot plate! Hot plate!". Then, upon pouring something onto it, it bursts into a brief inferno, to everyone's delight! "OPA!"”

My partner and I had the Mad Greek burger which was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had and we had their soup and salad that you can’t go wrong with but Yulisa made this a 5 star experience showing us their various selection, especially their tiramisu! “Absolutely amazing experience, first time here and definitely not the last! As someone who works in hospitality, I always pay close attention to how guests are treated, and this place nailed it. Our server was fantastic: warm, attentive, and genuinely kind from start to finish. The manager on duty, Amy, personally greeted us and made us feel incredibly welcomed. It’s the little touches like that that make a big difference. The food? Fantastic. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great service and even better eats! Dessert: Baklava Cheesecake”
“Really delicious greek salad but it only came with 3 olives 🫤 and was kinda small for a large. Although I did ask for no cucumbers so maybe that had a bit to do with it.”
