“We had a lovely tasting experience at Trefethen! I'm a recent club member and brought family on a May tasting that are visiting from Wisconsin. I joined recently after a tasting in March as the wine is fantastic (and at a great price point) and they have a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You can feel the connection to Napa history here and even though they are situated near 29, they have a beautiful tree canopied long drive to their historic building for tasting. Michael did a great job on our tour and tasting and he was super knowledgeable and informative. A highly recommend a visit to Trefethen while you are in Napa!!”
“My mom and I had the pleasure of doing both the tour and tasting with Michael, and the experience was absolutely spectacular. He explained everything in such an engaging and thoughtful way that I genuinely felt like I got a full lesson in wine! You can tell he’s incredibly knowledgeable and truly passionate about what he does, which made the experience so much more memorable. Every wine we tried was amazing — I honestly don’t think there was a single one we didn’t like. I also really appreciated learning about all of their sustainable winemaking practices and the care that goes into every part of the process. Between the wines, the atmosphere, the sustainability efforts, and Michael’s hospitality, this ended up being one of the best winery experiences we have had. If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.”
“I would definitely recommend this place. The drive is very unique for Napa. Most other places are just on the side of the road, this one is a nice drive through their vines to the center of their property. The building outside is quite plain, but inside it is very beautiful. You pay or checkin for your tasting downstairs and then head up stairs once they are ready. Tasting is really great. You are seated at a table and they bring the wines to you, 1 or 2 wines at a time. 1968 tasting had 5 wines and we tried 2 extras. Merlot and dragons tooth probably the best. They also have some educational vines around the side of the property.”
“Our visit took place in March, when the landscape was painted with blooming yellow mustard flowers alongside the post-harvest vines—a truly picturesque sight. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess at the estate. Upstairs, our guide provided a meticulous explanation of the grape varietals and their distinct notes. My wife and I sampled five different wines each. The experience was highly educational; the side-by-side comparison allowed us to grasp the nuances of various wines in no time. It was a deeply rewarding tasting experience.”
