Sumibi Yakitori Kidori is a distinguished yakitori restaurant, grilling its skewers over genuine Binchotan charcoal directly from Japan. Through an esteemed partnership with Sumibi Yakitori Zocalo, honored with a Bib Gourmand by Michelin Tokyo, and the team from Sushi Kisen, we are delighted to introduce the finest authentic Japanese yakitori to discerning culinary enthusiasts in Los Angeles.
“We did the 10-course yakitori omakase and it was a good amount of food. It was a good mix of chicken, innards and vegetables. For folks who are not into innards, they do offer alternatives so don't worry about missing out. The skewers are grilled well, had good flavor, and I love the condiment sampler. Ended up ordering more of the yuzu based condiment which packs a punch but really brings out the flavor of the skewers. For the last course, we ended up getting the ramen and the chicken and egg rice bowl. The ramen broth was light but hearty, adding a nice warm soupy finish to the meal. The chicken and egg rice bowl was very tasty, great if you want to end your meal with a punch. We were celebrating our anniversary, and they offered a fruit plate for dessert along with pudding. We also got a Polaroid picture as a memento. Restaurant is small/ intimate and reservation only, although they werent full when we were there so a couple of lucky folks managed to snag walk in spots. Service was great. Recommended!”
“Had a great Yakitori experience here, chicken skewers grilled to perfection on charcoal. The service was also amazing.”
“Wow, what a five star experience all around! We were celebrating a birthday, and this meal was absolutely delightful. Everything was masterfully cooked to perfection. My favorite dishes were the chicken ramen (ending dish) and the chicken heart! Everything tasted extremely fresh and so naturally flavorful. I can’t recommend this place enough. Our servers, Lucy and JT, were great. The chefs were phenomenal. So much skill in their art!”
“Tried Sumibiyakitori Kidori for the first time and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is cozy and feels authentic. The chicken wings were my favorite — perfectly grilled, crispy outside and juicy inside. The ginkgo nuts and other skewers were also nicely done. You can watch the chef grill everything right in front of you, which makes it more fun. Service was friendly and the overall vibe is relaxed. A great spot to unwind and enjoy some good yakitori. I’ll definitely be back.”
“Temple city hidden 💎, charcoal grill yakitori. If only reservations were easier to get I’d come more often 🥺. My favorite was the chicken liver pate, it was smooth and a bit sweet and savory just perfect. Wish I could just buy a jar of it 😆 Overall everything was season just right enough to bring out the natural flavors and charcoal flavor. My 2nd favorite was the soft boiled quail egg. 🤤 Parking is plentiful but be there on time else you won’t get the full service experience. It’ll feel rushed. The omakase set was perfect portions by the end you’ll feel full. There is the option to order more at the end if you feel hungry. My only issue is the restroom you have to go outside to sushi kisen next door to use the restroom.”
