“We've dined at the new 1587 House three or four times since it reopened under new ownership. Each time has been better than the last. We dined last night as a party of four. Our server Topanga was delightful. Lots of good energy, even better services. Two couples. We had a selection of small plates (Tandoori Teardrop Flat Bread, Watermelon Salad, Tiradito De Tuna) our friends entrees. All delicious. We'll be back.”

“The best food I have ever eaten in my life! The service, food, ambiance, and view 🌊⛴️everything was perfect. We had six different appetizers and five entrées, and every single one was flawless… absolutely D E L I C I O U S. Although I loved them all, my favorite appetizer was the lobster mac & cheese, and for the entrée, I especially enjoyed the catch of the day, which, when we went, was drum.”

“Nice restaurant with a great view and plenty of space both indoors and out. Drinks were good & the Roanoke Burger was delicious and cooked exactly to the temperature asked. The fries / potato wedges were dusted in old bay and came out piping hot!”

“Beautiful Inn and Resturant. Mary at the front desk is so gracious and kind. Holding the door open welcoming us and saying goodbye. Mary is wonderful. Dined at the resturant for lunch. Ordered Espresso Martini (not a very strong espresso) it was okay, the strawberry Gillette was delicate, the show stopper on the drinks El.Diablo - highly recommend. See photos Watermelon Salad-Wow! Our taste buds were dancing. Highly recommend! The poached shrimp auguachile fell short, The lobster roll delicious! Set back not much lobster see photo. I would ask for extra lobster or charge a little more and add more lobster. Will he back again and continue to taste.more of the menu. Beautiful view from the table.”

“I rarely write long reviews about restaurant experiences, but this one deserves to be shared. On May 14th, I visited 1587 Restaurant and Lounge for an anniversary date. It had been many years since I had last been there or worked there. I remembered it as a true fine dining experience, and based on the Google reviews describing it as “business dress” and a 5-star establishment, I expected that same level of quality. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we received. When we arrived, several people at the bar were wearing T-shirts despite the online description stating business casual attire. There was also a child’s birthday party in the back corner with streamers hanging throughout the dining area, which completely changed the atmosphere from what is advertised as upscale dining. We started with the crab cakes. I appreciated that they contained very little filler, but unfortunately they were burnt. My girlfriend ordered the shrimp, lobster, and ramp pasta. The seafood was overcooked and rubbery, and the pasta itself was barely warm. Considering this is a staple dish on the menu, it was disappointing. I ordered the tilefish special with rice, and to be fair, that dish was prepared very well. It was the highlight of the meal. I also want to note that our server only stopped by our table twice during the entire experience, as most of their attention appeared focused on the birthday party. Overall, I was embarrassed that I chose this restaurant for an anniversary dinner. We honestly could have had a better experience and spent less money at Outback Steakhouse. I truly hope the chef and staff were simply having an off night, because this was nowhere near the fine dining experience 1587 once was. At this time, I would not return or recommend it to others based on our experience.”
