“There are birthday dinners… and then there are nights that remind you how blessed you are to be surrounded by good food, good people, and genuine love. Tonight, I celebrated my birthday at AP — Atlantic Prime in Franklin, North Carolina, one of my favorite restaurants. The meal was outstanding: salmon, Hoppin’ Johns, heirloom tomatoes, and, thanks to my wife, a surprise order of fries because apparently birthday calories do not count. I also enjoyed my favorite — a banana old-fashioned — while my wife had a fresh coconut cocktail that was just as good as it sounds. But what made the night unforgettable was the AP family. Ken, Tiffany, Bree, and Anna went above and beyond by gifting me a bottle of Francis Coppola Prosecco and two AP-logo cups, along with a birthday card that read: “Happy Birthday. Thank you for being part of the AP family. We hope it’s an amazing year. We love you.” That kind of love is rare. It was not just great service; it was hospitality from the heart. Thank you, Atlantic Prime, for making my birthday feel special. Good food brings people to the table, but great people make you feel like family. Feeling grateful, celebrated, and blessed. “Exceptional Coastal Dining in Franklinton! We are so happy to have discovered Atlantic Prime—it’s clear that immense care goes into every detail here. From the chic coastal ambiance to the top-tier service, it’s a standout addition to the area. The Service: Truly exceptional. Our server, Tiffany, was amazingly personable and perfectly intuitive, knowing exactly when to check in. The manager also visited our table twice, a thoughtful touch that made us feel right at home. Drink Highlight: If you love passion fruit, you must try the Sinking Ship cocktail (Cruzan Rum, passion fruit, lime, agave, cilantro, and cayenne). It is wonderfully balanced with just the right amount of zest. Food Standouts: Calamari: Light, crispy, and "cloud-like." Octopus: A perfect Mediterranean bite when paired with the olive aioli and romesco potatoes. Fried Catfish Platter: A generous portion; the pineapple chow-chow is so good I could eat a bowl of it solo! Asian Caesar: Vibrant, beautifully fresh, and a great twist on a classic. Dessert: We shared the Chocolate Budino. It’s rich and decadent, perfectly complemented by the salted pecan praline. We’re already planning our return to try their sister spot, Franco’s Italian Steakhouse, right next door. Franklinton is officially on our regular rotation!”

“What a great dinner and environment for my wife’s birthday celebration. The town of Franklinton now features two quality eateries, Franco’s for steaks and Atlantic Prime Coastal Kitchen for seafood. Our visit to Atlantic Prime showed us that great food in a nice environment is still possible. When you combine that with awesome service, diners get to experience what “good looks like.” A final shout out to our server Amanda. That lady really hustled to ensure we had a nice night.”

“We’ve visited this restaurant several times, but this evening was especially memorable as we celebrated my birthday with appetizers. The atmosphere is always a highlight—the music creates a wonderful coastal vibe that pairs perfectly with the décor, and the lighting is warm and inviting. I grew up loving crab cakes, and this one was truly exceptional—easily one of the best I’ve ever had. I also enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, and the shrimp were impressively large, which pleasantly surprised both my husband and me. It’s clear the restaurant puts great care into their recipes: each sauce was thoughtfully crafted and distinct, even down to the arugula being lightly tossed in its own sauce. Everything was absolutely amazing, and we’ll definitely be back.”

“Excellent seafood, fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. We came in for my birthday dinner this evening and enjoyed the seafood sampler, clam chowder, lobster hush puppies, jumbo crab cake and the salmon:) We tried a couple drinks and the feature wine. The sinking ship cocktail was really good.”
