Steakhouse, a Supper Club in the heart of the city.
“Great experience at JD Hoyt’s, the experience is classy and welcoming. The menu is classic supper club with specials, we had a seafood special with lobster tail, shrimp, and scallops - all were wonderful. The charcoal grill is awesome for steaks and their famous pork chop. I rarely order pork chops, and I ate the whole thing! Our server was prompt and attentive, easygoing fun personality. Classic cocktails, wide variety of wines, and full bar available. Valet parking available. No complaints.”
“This is the 1st time Ive ever given them a 3, the service was amazing like always our server should come be a realtor she relates and makes you feel like you've been friends for years. It was my 44th bday dinner and the service was so good we didn't wanna send the food back. For 3 people we ordered The rib eye( tasted like the worst dried out new York strip ever and the veggie toppers were barley cooked. I will say this is outta character. The scallops were not under cooked once but we did send them back and asked for well done the 2nd time they came out still rubber and cold in the middle again out of character, so I brought them home and cooked them for myself later, the Cajun shrimp was so bomb, always is, but again the veggies were barley cooked so I brought them home and cooked them my self, the corn bread was so dry I couldn't swallow a bite, the espresso Martini always amazing, this next part is sad the cheese bread was so dried up and not normal but the marinara was amazing and the Cajun pasta and mashed were good. Not the $280 birthday dinner I expected but hey everyone is allowed an offer day just wish it was my bday celebration. Oh and the server brought out complimentary strawberry corn bread short cake that was so amazing. The catfish was my kids favorite, the crab cake was off too”
“We went here for my birthday celebration and it was truly a 10/10 experience. Jody and Kate were our servers and could not have been more kind and attentive. The food was excellent, the holiday decorations were beautiful, and the entire staff made us feel so welcome. A wonderful experience all around—thank you!”
“There are some booths that offer the true super club vibe and the dining room is a little less so. They are known for their charcoal grill. We tried the small buddy bowl, which was good but basically cheese covered red beans & Rice and cheesey toast. I got the tenderloin fillet and my friend had the Pork chop. Steak was perfectly done and a side of mashed potatoes were ok. My friends pork chop was huge and delicious I heard. Prices are very reasonable for the quality.”
“If I had nothing but the Cajun pasta, hash browns and the bread putting, this would have been nearly a five star experience. We tried a variety of dishes and every one fell short of our expectations besides these items. The women’s restroom (per my girlfriend) smelled like a porta potty. The pork ribs were heavily recommended, they had an ok flavor but I would never get them again. The fried catfish was nice and crispy but did need the hot sauce. The salmon was pretty solid, but the ribeye was an extreme disappointment. No crust and no flavor whatsoever. There was so much gristle and unrendered fat that it feels like the midway point through select and utility grade. I added mushrooms that were supposed to be cooked in a garlic butter, but they tasted like they were boiled. Because the ambiance and the service were so great, we will most likely come back and try some other items. But do NOT get a steak and expect anything better than TX Roadhouse. In fact, I think TXR has better steaks.”
