Masculine, bright, accented with wood & leather, Manny's evokes the great steakhouses of New York & Chicago - & eclipses them in critical & popular acclaim. Rated Top Five in the U.S. by the Zagat Guide, named one of America's top Steakhouses by the Knife & Fork Club, Men's Journal & the Independent Cattleman's Association, & a perennial winner of newspaper & magazine reader polls, Manny's commands a fanatical local following & a national reputation. Wrote the New York Times: "There's good news in Minneapolis for those who still share the secret pleasures of red meat, well-cut & seriously served." In addition to USDA-certified, dry- aged, center-cut beef, Manny's offers chops, chicken, fresh seafood & a Wine Spectator Award-winning wine list.
“Manny's is a class establishment! I give them the distinction from how they accommodated our small appetites. We were splitting our appetizers and entré and the kitchen was pretty splitting the food with equally careful playing for each half. I appreciate the extra effort it takes to plate. The Miso Chilean Sea Bass was cooked to perfection - the Miso sauce had such a delicate flavor that if we were home, we would have licked our plates!! Service was personable and made us feel at home. Thank you. I took off a couple of stars on atmosphere - the lighting was a bit too dim for our liking - such wonderfully plated dishes and we had to strain to appreciate it. And for no fault of the establishment, the group next to us was just too loud. Overall a wonderful dinner experience! Highly recommended!”
“The food was top quality and the service was the best service I have received in my life. The server, the helper, and the management were all really professional and friendly. Both the sides and the desserts are big enough to share and were really tasty. The appetizer was also a generous portion. The restaurant is beautiful and the whole experience/service/food was worth the price. Make sure to listen to your server about the steak doneness recommendations based on your particular likes since they seem to lean towards rare more than other places.”
“Manny’s Steakhouse absolutely nails the classic high-end steakhouse experience from the moment you walk in. The service is on another level—polished, attentive, and genuinely feels luxury-tier without being stiff. Every interaction has that “they’ve done this a thousand times and still care” energy. You’re never waiting long for anything, but it never feels rushed either. The steaks are the main event, and they deliver exactly what you hope for: perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and with that rich, dry-aged-style intensity that makes you slow down and appreciate every bite. It’s the kind of steak that doesn’t need much explaining—just a knife and a quiet table. The sides are not an afterthought either. The mushrooms are rich and savory, soaking up all the steakhouse flavor you want on the plate, and the spinach is surprisingly memorable—creamy, well-seasoned, and balanced instead of heavy. And the old fashioned is spot on: strong, smooth, and well-balanced without being overly sweet. It fits the whole vibe of the place perfectly—classic, no shortcuts, done right. Overall, Manny’s is one of those places that earns its reputation. Expensive, yes—but the service, food, and atmosphere all justify it in a way that feels effortless rather than forced.”
“Great steakhouse, go for the beef and skip the sides. Classic old-school steakhouse with the right ambiance: white tablecloths, no pretense, comfortable room. Exactly what this kind of place should feel like. The dry-aged ribeye (80+ days) was exceptional. Best thing on the table by a wide margin. Shrimp cocktail starter was also excellent. The sides were a letdown. Both arrived lukewarm at best. The baked potato had clearly been sitting in a steam tray for hours and it showed. The pie was decent but also room temperature with no texture to speak of. For the price point, sides should arrive hot. Service was friendly but focused on the larger tables. Worth going back, but I'll be ordering differently next time. The beef is the reason to come here.”
“After visiting many top steak places in Minne and St. Paul, we were so excited to try Manny's. I would say the menu is basic, simple and classic... really highlighting the steak experience. I started with the Dragon Chaser for a cocktail - which was great. Bread service was fresh and very good (not warm, but not necessary). Our server was amazing - so knowledgable, friendly and excited to work there. It was certainly a highlight - I noticed the other staff we saw and heard were much of the same. Atmosphere was simple and classic, nothing crazy. I would say for a high end steakhouse I expected something different, more cozy or old school maybe? My husband and I love a good wedge, which they split for us (so the picture is only half). Big chunks of bacon, so good, dressing was great - really perfect. Lobster bisque was great. HUGE chunks of lobster (so big, I had to take out and cut with a knife) and the right balance of creamy-brothy. I got the large filet, medium rare and was perfect. I was debating to get it medium based on their description, but glad I got medium rare. It melts in your mouth, so easy to chew and eat while conversing with friends. My husband ordered the rib-eye and regretted it. He spent the entirety of our meal cutting his meat and missed the conversation, he wishes he got the filet. Our friend ordered the strip and said it was great (he had been here before and is a strip fan). As a side, we ordered the hashbrowns - they are huge! Between 4 of us, we only ate 40% of it, took home the rest. The brussel sprouts were a special and were very sweet - I loved them, but nobody else cared for it. Dessert was a highlight - key lime pie was big enough for 6 people, but perfection! Hot fudge sundae was great and split between 3 people. Overall it was very good, not as great as some other steakhouse experiences due to variety of menu, atmosphere and value. My husband and my meal was $400 with tip - definitely not what we were expecting to spend. I probably will not return unless we had friends who wanted to come here.”
