There are producers in both countries are trying to break out of these type-casted roles and produce thoughtful, expressive wines of place; truly spectacular and surprising wines which reach well beyond the paradigm of fifteen dollar bottles of Cabernet and Malbec. This is one of our favorite classes to teach as it brings so much into the mix, politics, intrigue, disease, terroir, and stories about relentless pioneers.The World Of Wine Series introduces 100 wines from 100 of the world’s most famous appellations. As with all of our events, we use wine as a way to connect dots. We draw lines between flavors, farming, culture, and beyond. It’s a way to sip wine and engage the world in ways that that can be sometimes hilarious, at times deadly serious, but most importantly, always intoxicatingly interesting.
