Aburi Sushi is the newest concept from the MICHELIN-starred Aburi Group of Restaurants, pioneers of Aburi Sushi & Cuisine in Canada since 2008. Focusing on Temaki (hand roll) and Aburi (flame-searing), Aburi Sushi aims to introduce new textures of premium seafood while enhancing its natural flavours with the use of high-quality Ariake seaweed.
“I've been here twice for Sushi. By far, one of my favorite places to get Sushi. It's quick and flavorful. A bit pricey per piece by well worth it. I always get the Edamame & Salmon Oshi.”
“This is probably my 3rd time trying Aburi Sushi at this location (waterworks). I love this place. The staffs are all smiles all the time. They ring you up with text when order is ready for pick up. And the environment at Waterworks is just simply amazing. Such a vibe. You pair it with some wine, and it's the perfect lunch setting. The fish is always so fresh. And I love the rice here as well. Will keep coming back!”
“We had the Aburi set and it was an amazing 7 piece course of sushi. Each piece was beautiful to look at and tasted as good as it looked. It was really great to be able to see into the kitchen area and watch the prep. Overall it was an amazing experience. I can't wait to go back!”
“A+! Randomly checked out this spot in the Waterworks Food Hall. Amazing quality fish! It's quite better than most high end restaurants. I love the charcoal used. Oh my gosh, the UNI and TORO was top grade. Love the way they prepared our dishes. The flavors on point. Hands down to the chef and staff. We were visiting from California and this is now on our top 5 sushi joints. The value of money you spend there is well worth it. Service great. Hope to visit in the future at their locations.”
“I was really excited to find a tasty sushi spot nearby, but I was left disappointed at Aburi Sushi. I ordered the 3pc O-toro sashimi ($30) with the Waterworks Set ($28), but was served Chutoro instead. At the time, I wasn't 100% sure so I finished the meal and tipped 20%. However after researching, it was definitely not the premium cut I paid $30 for. It's deceptive when a restaurant isn't honest with their customers about high-end ingredients. I won't be returning.”
