“The cutest place to get a drink in Columbia. As a long time resident, I am so happy to have this option. Cute date night, perfect atmosphere. The whipped feta is chefs kiss.”
“My wife and I, along with some family, visited American Barrel this past weekend and were thoroughly impressed. The interior exudes a high-end, sophisticated vibe that immediately sets the tone for a great experience. We especially enjoyed watching the drinks being crafted right in front of us—it added a fun, personal touch to the evening. We ordered the chips and guacamole, which were absolutely exceptional. The owner was warm, professional, and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be coming back!”
“We arrived before 5 on a Friday, and it was already filling up. Great early 20th century vibe with the perfect music to complement. Friendly staff, working hard. My double of Dewar's 12yr was generous. My wife's Hot Buttered Rum was apparently delicious. She generally doesn't like alcohol but LOVED this enough to order a second! The Fig & Fowl salad was pleasant to the eye and the perfect blend of tastes and textures. I've forgotten the name of the sweet bourbon bacon dog that my wife had, but she absolutely loved that too. Best of all, it was just a very, very nice date. She loves that time period and enjoys both classic and classy things. This was a superlative experience of both. She thoroughly enjoyed myself, which meant that in addition to enjoying it for myself, I had the extra pleasure of seeing her do too. Excellent!”
“Overpriced. Bartender offered to make an off menu martini he just created and charged $25 which was above any martini on their menu. Best selling dish was supposedly kielbasa cut up into slices like hotdogs with a sauce over them and they were served with 7 small slices of bread —ask for more slices at an additional charge. Bartender on his phone and talking to waitresses most of the time we were there.”
“3 of us came in, out of the rain! Dripping wet, asked what I needed “ I requested a napkin or small towel “. Wait staff was granting my request when the Owner says No! This Drill Sargent was in no mood for customers or small talk. He lacked kindness, empathy and a smile. We moved on to a happier bar.”
