“Truly blown away by the service, food and drinks here! We live right down the street and somehow just had our first dining experience last night. We left asking ourselves, “what have we been doing?!” because all of it was awesome! Not to mention - their happy hour is the best I’ve seen in this area! (4-6pm every day, 1/2 off drinks on the menu, $10 double cheeseburger & $15 chicken fried steak meal!) Shout out to our awesome waitress, Ava, for her kindness & expertise. She made great menu suggestions that left us very impressed. This was a perfect dinner date night spot! We ordered: - salmon wontons (maybe the best app I’ve ever had in my life??) - Crispy, hot honey brussels sprouts - double cheeseburger - pecan crusted chicken (cooked perfectly & flavor explosion!) - s’mores cookie and ice cream for dessert - special old fashion (with rosemary & cinnamon) — my husband’s new favorite old fashion! - mocktail that had the vanilla and fig syrup (🤤) We are excited to return (& equally frustrated that our friends have never pushed us to go until last night! We’ve been missing out!)”

“My husband and I came here on a date and we LOVED it! We had such a great experience. Our server Sydney was awesome, very friendly, and knowledgeable. I ordered the salmon w/ chimichurri sauce and risotto. It was amazing! The dessert "Oowey gooey cake was great, the coffee was great! And Blake, the manager came to our table and talked to us. He was super friendly. He made us feel really welcome and its obvious that he loves what he does. Not only did he check on my husbands margarita, making sure it was up to par, but he was super down to earth. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!!!”

“Our waitress, Taylor, was absolutely amazing. She took such great care of my mom and me and truly made our night feel special. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She offered thoughtful recommendations and took the time to clearly explain each dish, including what to expect in terms of flavors, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Her service went above and beyond, and we really appreciated the effort she put into making our evening memorable. We’ll definitely be back, and we hope to have Taylor again! Oh, the bread pudding was absolutely delicious!”

“We were really excited to bring our 13-year-old to try a porterhouse. We eat a lot of steak at home, and she’s just getting into it, so this felt like a fun “level up” dinner. Let me start with what they got right: the atmosphere is fantastic. Truly a great space. Easy 5 stars there. Service was okay, but a bit uneven. The staff seemed somewhat inexperienced, which is fine, but timing was off. Salads took a long time to arrive, and while we ordered fries (and didn’t specifically ask for them as an appetizer), they didn’t come out with the meal. When they did arrive, they weren’t warm and had an off taste. I couldn’t quite place it, but I didn’t even finish one. And I love fries. That alone says a lot. Now the steak. This is the part that’s tough to write, because I generally try to leave positive reviews. But at this price point, expectations matter. We ordered the porterhouse medium rare. What came out was not that. I understand that a porterhouse won’t cook perfectly evenly, but this cut was dramatically uneven. The tenderloin side was noticeably smaller and thinner, while the strip side was significantly thicker (almost bulbous). It honestly made me question whether this met the standard of a true porterhouse cut. The result: the tenderloin was closer to medium-well, and the strip landed around medium. To make matters worse, the steak lacked seasoning. Three sauces were brought out, but a great steak shouldn’t rely on sauce to deliver flavor. Sauces should enhance, not compensate. We live in Argyle, so we don’t have a ton of options, which makes this even more disappointing. Because the space itself is great, we may come back for drinks or try a different entrée. But based on this experience, I wouldn’t order the steak again.”

“So, for Valentine's day dinner, I took my wife to the Barrel excited for a great dinner. We show up a few minutes before our reservation time and are promptly seated. Then we wait 15 minutes for a server, despite servers walking all around us, no one stopped to ask if we'd been helped. We finally walked back to the hostess and asked if we had a server for our table. Shortly after, our server, James arrives. We are then provided with water and he takes our drink and appetizer order. The deviled eggs are delicious; try them. We place our order; ribeye and chicken fried steak. He comes back a few minutes later, no ribeyes; so I change to a New York strip, none left. Change to the sirloin, none left. Finally I order the only steak left, the filet. James apologizes profusely and says he'll comp the appetizer and drinks, and will send the manager over. We watch the manager, Blake, talk to a table next to ours for 10 minutes as James asks him to stop by. Blake doesn't stop by, instead he leaves for the night. We finally did get our food and it truly was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the taste. James did his best, despite the lack of support. One other minor thing, the restaurant was giving out roses to all the ladies, apparently except for mine. I would have rated service at 1 star instead of 2 due to management conduct, but James did his best to help us out.”
