“We just went for a snack and had soup and desert. Food and atmosphere were great, lots of amazing food on the menu. While we we sat immediately, service was slow, soup and desert took us and hour and ten minutes at 2pm on a Saturday. Won’t let that stop us from trying some more of the menu.”
“What a find in a historic part of Nashville. The food is sensational to say the least. Friendly service by the hostess and a beautiful setting to enjoy the best there is in food with a view of the whiskey Distillery.”
“I'm passing through Nashville for the weekend. Looking for local food, whiskey, and history. Nelson's GreenBrier Restaurant and Distillery has all three combined. The food is very good. I had the steak frites. Mouth watering, buttery, and tender. I also had a smoked old fashion. Classic old fashion, balance of spirit and sweetness. We were able to luck into a tour of the distillery. Our tour guide, Shawn, was easy to listen to and very informative. It is very interesting to hear the history of the name, product, and revitalization of the process. The sampling of the product at the end is also very informative and tasteful.”
“I recently visited here for brunch and opted for the Distillery Plate, which offered a solid mix of flavors. The bacon stood out with its smoky profile and a perfect balance of meat and fat—crisp and delicious. The duck fries were a highlight, bringing a rich and unique twist to the plate. The sausage links, while decent, didn’t quite match the rest; they were fine but lacked that wow factor. The sourdough bread slices were tasty with a nice tang, though I found them a bit small for the hearty portions of the dish. I ordered two eggs over easy, but the execution was inconsistent—one was spot-on, while the other was over-hard, which was a letdown. On the bright side, the Bloody Mary was a revelation. Made with their whiskey, it was a bold and creative take I’d never have thought to try myself—easily one of the best I’ve had. Overall, it was a satisfying brunch with some standout moments and a couple of minor missteps. I’d come back for that Bloody Mary though.”
“When you walk into the distillery it has an open floor plan and well decorated. Once we were seated we ordered some appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were different. It was grits with mushrooms and I believe marsala sauce. It was pretty good. Everyone in my party got burgers and they seemed to enjoy them. I got the schnitzel. It was big and the first couple bites were good but overall it lacks flavor. There was little to no seasoning and the gravy cover a small amount of the schnitzel. The potatoes in duck fat were the highlight of the meal but not enough to make me want to return for another meal.”
