“Stepping into 13 orphans (or baba’s house) is sort of like stepping into a hidden midnight cafe in Hong Kong. You could never guess it from the outside, but the inside ambience feels like you’re being transported to another world. The food is always evolving and always delicious, and I love their drink menu!! It’s so special! They make drinks that correspond with elements and crafted with Asian flavors. They also have plenty of tables to play mahjong with instructions and dedicated teaching nights. Don’t even get me started on karaoke, 13 orphans also has karaoke nights that rival any karaoke spot in the area!”

“absolutely love this place!! the food is incredible and their mahjong nights can’t be beat. they have teachers, beginner nights, and even tournaments or advanced play nights where folks of all ages, backgrounds and levels play together.
above all, you can really tell the owners care deeply about the community, as they platform a ton of local artists, djs, makers and organizers. its hard to find these kinds of spaces in the bay these days!!

“Came here for Majong coaching night for my friends 33rd birthday, and it was an absolute blast! The Vibes ✨, the drinks, the food, wow! And the game is so fun!! The coaches were so generous with their time and patient with us! It is really fun game and loved meeting the people there and getting to learn about the culture. Alan one of the owner’s coached me and my friends at one point, and I loved hearing his story and how the business got started! If you have not yet check this place out, you’re missing out!”

“don't market your establishment as aapi friendly when you just steal from other young aapi artists. i was extremely disappointed and hurt by the lack of respect and service that this establishment showed me. i spoke to the bartender (who was actually the owner) about bedazzling events that i host with my friends in our music collective. i inquired about hosting an event at this space to bring both my friends, community and business. instead, the owner stole my bedazzling event idea and hosted their own and posted the exact same event all over instagram. as an artist, this was extremely shocking to see. shocking and disappointed. never again will i come to this business.”
