Here at The Fat Lady, our goal has always been to create an environment to indulge your senses - sipping on cocktails while gazing upon the cross cut oak back bar & dining with friends under warm amber light, swaying to the sultry sounds of Ol’ Blue Eyes & reveling in the hospitality of our continually amazing staff - that’s what keeps guests coming back time and time again.
“House salad is not a standard fare in a good way with spicy peacans and strawberries. I added avocado which made it even better. The French onion soup is good and had House made cookies for dessert. Daughter had a steak which she enjoyed.”
“We came here around Christmas looking for a festive dinner and it was exactly what we hoped! Every inch was completely decked out in the best way, and I could tell even in non-Christmas times the decor was cool. Food was great as well! We had the pate and onion soup for appetizer and for our mains a ribeye + baked potato and a caesar + added steak. Everything was well seasoned and the steak add portion on the salad is excellent! Our server was really nice and everything came out promptly. There's a lot of good looking things on the menu and I'd love to go back and try some more!”
“4.8/5 It was such a delight to eat at the Fat Lady! I’ve been meaning to try it for the longest time as I’ve heard it is a must try Oakland establishment. The food was outstanding - we ordered the steamed mussels and the hot spinach salad as our appetizer. Each of us also got the prime rib plate that’s available on Fridays and saturdays as our entrees. All the flavors and seasonings were done perfectly! I also enjoyed the boulevardier cocktail that was very similar to the traditional Negroni. Finally, I cannot appreciate enough how they got the doneness of our prime rib steak correct! Medium rare is truly medium rare here, and we did not have to send it back to the kitchen. The portion was extremely generous and the service was impeccable. Regarding the restaurant ambience itself, we were lucky to still dine in the Christmas/ festive decor! The restaurant is super charming and had an eclectic curation of vintage art pieces. Highly recommend this if you ever need a date night.”
“We sat at the bar and had dinner there - same menu as the tables, and the bartenders (Adam and Beth) were great. The drinks are well made, both alcoholic and NA. (I recommend the Italian Spritz if you are the designated driver but want to feel like you are indulging), and the food is really good. Would highly recommend for dinner if you are in the Jack London Sq area.”
“Pate’ was good. Calamari steak was tender but the breading was very “doughy “ sadly. Boulevardier drink was to be like an old fashion but only very remotely like one. Service was very friendly. fast, and present. I would not recommend this place but I would also not fight to avoid it either.”
