Bella Colibri celebrates Colorado’s strong ties to Italy and founder Dean Valdez’s Italian family, who immigrated to Colorado from Calabria, Italy in the early 1900s. Housed in one of the state’s most historic buildings, Bella Colibri’s elegant décor honors the building’s rich history, while also evoking the atmosphere of Southern Italy. Beautiful artwork depicts Colorado landscapes with a Tuscan feel. The menu features fresh interpretations of Southern Italian dishes, including seafood, homemade pastas, Colorado lamb, steaks and more. All dishes are artfully crafted by our Hospy nominated Chef, John Wilson. We have several styles of seating to make you feel at home. Join us in our dining room for a traditional dining experience. Our intimate Bar serves a full menu with service & a chat with our wonderful bartenders. The Chef’s Counter offers an up close view of the meticulous preparation and a chance to interact with the chefs as they prepare specialties and practice their craft. And now sharing two outdoor spaces! Our covered Pergola tucked away in our backyard is a cozy respite with a gorgeous view! And right in the heart of downtown Golden, our Terrazza sits right in front of the restaurant and is the best spot for a bistro style stop! A 3% processing surcharge applies to all credit/debit card payments. There is no surcharge for cash payments.
“We have eaten many great Italian meals over the years, including on trips to Italy, and Bella Colibri definitely stands among the best. What an outstanding restaurant! We were expecting it to be good, but had no idea it would be this good. Delicious food, exquisite wine, beautiful ambiance, and our waiter Rob was gracious, patient, and accommodating throughout. If you are looking for elevated pasta dishes, this Golden, Colorado treasure is an absolute must. Highly recommended.”
“Bella Colibri is a charming Italian restaurant. We booked the chef’s counter for dinner. Great experience!! You get to see all the delicious food coming out of the kitchen before you order so you get a little preview. The Chef is interactive and really enjoyable to talk to. They have a great wine selection- amazing wines from Italy. We loved the olives, bucatini with sausage and the lasagna. We, unfortunately, did not have room for dessert.”

“My bolognese was delicious. My wife ordered the same meal. The meat was grisly. She was actually excited to try their lasagna. We had a 6:30 reservation but the lasagna was already sold out. The service was good but for $240, I would expect quite a bit more. No blue cheese for martini's, out of stock items early in the evening does not get 5 stars. Hey chef, maybe set up a rule that you cannot wear a baseball cap in your high end restaurant. If this was Tony's pizza & sausage, I would have been happy. But Tony's would have been $140.00 vs. $240.00. Very disappointing overall. We will not come back.”
