“I had an incredible experience at Black Pearl in Ponte Vedra. The ambiance was absolutely amazing from the moment we walked in. The hidden speakeasy is beautifully designed and very well laid out, creating an intimate and upscale vibe that makes the entire experience feel unique and memorable. The service was a solid 10/10 — attentive, welcoming, and professional throughout the evening. Every detail felt intentional, and the staff made us feel genuinely taken care of. As for the food, everything we tried was outstanding. The flavors, presentation, and creativity of the dishes were all top tier. Black Pearl truly delivers not just a dinner, but an experience. Definitely one of the best dining spots in Ponte Vedra, and we’ll absolutely be back.”
“Finally got to try Black Pearl in PV Beach, a Japanese-Italian fusion restaurant in town. Posting bec of positive experience so hopefully y’all can check them out. Even though it’s located in a strip mall, the inside has a very good ambiance. Most importantly, food on point (kudos to the chef ). Great apps: bread was not complimentary but oh so worth it bec the texture was pure perfection and with their butter (chef kiss), potatoes (no clue what was even on it lol but was pleasantly surprised), yummy carrots, and lastly chicken karaage was probably the best we’ve had. Mains: their Nero Mare with tiger prawns & Hokkaido scallops was absolutely incredible; that seafood pasta made my belly so happy bec it was the closest thing to what we had in Portofino. The sauce is made of prawn bisque and so flavorful; I’m drooling just thinking about it. The best kind of food are the ones that can transport you into another country solely on your taste buds. My husband enjoyed his carbonara also. Desserts: we tried all the 3 they had, and the Panna cotta was the clear winner . Drinks: we tried both of their mocktails and our fav was Aurora. We were seated in one of their posh like booths; very comfy. Well spaced seating so you don’t have to be bothered by other people’s conversations (yes please!) Our server was Ethan; he seemed to be genuinely nice which we appreciated, and he did a great job which made for an awesome evening. Even the packaging of their to-go boxes were cute and eco-friendly. We’ve eaten in multiple Michelin restaurants all over the world bec we love good food and it’s so refreshing when we find a new restaurant locally that actually delivers. Plain & simple: some places are worth it and this one is certainly one of them so we will definitely be back!”
“Very buttoned up and fun experience for a place that hasn’t been open very long. The service was outstanding and I don’t say that lightly. We wanted to try several entrees to share, so they so they asked if we wanted to course them out instead of loading up the table for two. Our Sommeliers was really on point, with explanations directly related to what we were eating for each course. All of our dishes were very well balanced and the plating allowed you to play a little mix/match. It was fun. Appetizers: Tuna carpaccio and King Salmon Tartare. Tuna was perfect! The salmon was great, however, I didn’t get as much smoke and in the Shoyu as I would like and I would have loved to see the smoke in the table pour. Dinner: We had the Miso Sea Bass, Pescatore and the Wagyu Short Rib. My only criticism would be that personally I like just a little more chew in my udon noodles. Dessert: Chocolate-Perfect with an Affogato although, the ice cream foam needs a little sprinkle of something in my opinion. Drinks: I would like to see more Sake on the menu and as a Brooklynite, I would recommend the Brooklyn Kura (the only American company backed by Hakkaisan Brewery in Japan). Would love to go back the next time I visit the area to experience the Omakase experience.”
“Black Pearl in Ponte Vedra is an absolute gem. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something special — and it exceeded every expectation. We started with cocktails that were as creative as they were delicious. The miso Old-Fashioned made with Japanese bourbon was smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. The recommended lychee cocktail with gooseberry accompaniment was light, refreshing, and beautifully presented. Both were unforgettable. For starters, we shared the king salmon tartare and tuna carpaccio with black truffle cream — each dish incredibly fresh, delicate, and thoughtfully composed. The truffle cream elevated the tuna carpaccio to another level. Our entrées were nothing short of spectacular. The Wagyu short rib was tender and rich, melting with every bite. The miso sea bass, paired with a broccolini salsa verde and silky sunchoke purée, was perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced. The pescatore with king prawns and hand-rolled udon noodles was both comforting and refined — a flawless fusion of Japanese and Italian techniques. Dessert continued to impress. The chocolate mousse with matcha was decadent yet balanced, and the yuzu salted caramel ice cream was bright, unique, and the perfect sweet finish. We ended with an affogato — not traditional, but elevated with Frangelico and an ice cream foam — a creative twist that left a lasting impression. Each entrée was perfectly paired with wines recommended by Mitchell. His knowledge of wine is something I have only experienced before during my tour of Tuscany — absolutely amazing. The pairings elevated every course and truly enhanced the entire dining experience. And we cannot say enough about our server, Cameron. Personable, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever being intrusive — he made the evening seamless and unforgettable. Black Pearl isn’t just dinner — it’s an experience. We will absolutely be back.”
“Had a really nice time here with my wife. The cocktails were excellent, the food was delicious and modestly portioned. We were able to fully complete our meals without feeling overly full. The atmosphere was visually stunning and great for a nice date night. One minor detail is that It can be a bit loud in the main dining area so expect to have to lean in and repeat yourself. Overall it’s a lively and tasty spot for a special occasion.”
