BLUE DENIM CELEBRATES THE FOODWAYS OF THE UNIVERSAL SOUTH. SPECIALIZING IN CAJUN - CREOLE - SOUTHERN CUISINE. THERE IS A SEAT AT THE TABLE FOR EVERYONE AT BLUE DENIM. LET'S MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE, ONE PLATE AT A TIME.
“INCREDIBLE dining experience! The menu is lovely and the dishes are perfectly executed! I am a chef, born and raised in South East Louisiana. Blue Denim will impress any of my fellow Creole or Cajun natives. The dishes are thoughtful and elevated from traditional Cajun/Creole to something so very tasty. I've been twice in 2 weeks while visiting Greensboro. I will definitely be back every time I'm there. The atmosphere is warm and cozy with beautiful artwork inside. The outdoor dining area is cute as a button. Not so many tables, but right along the front, at the street...great for people watching. We had the same server both times, although I don't recall his name, he too is from Louisiana and worked his service like only a true Cajun would do...gracefully and very hospitable! We loved our interaction with him, made our experience feel like we were visiting relatives! 10 out of 10 recommend! Curious visits we had the Crawfish Beignets, Crawfish Fettuccine, Shrimp and Grits with added Catfish, Crab Ramgoon Dip, Spring Crawfish Risotto and Duck Confit Ja Jambalya (could have been more duck in the dish, but great nonetheless)...every single bite was over the top! I can't pick a favorite because they ALL knocked our socks off! I can't wait to eat my way through the whole menu. Oh, and the portions are HUGE! Lots of Laginappe! Both times we had leftovers to literally make another meal. The menu is seasonal and changes regularly. Ah, and I forgot...the seasoning on ALL dishes were spot on. I usually have to adjust salt at the table or just be disappointed with seasoning at other restaurants, Blue Denim knows how to use spices as any true Cajun. No adjustment needed and nothing too spicy (thats a myth that all Cajun cooking is spicy...it's just flavorful and seasoned properly).”
“Wonderful food. Some of the best I've ever had. Fantastic service. The etouffee was incredible. The boudin balls are a perfect appetizer. The service was incredible. The music choice was also awesome with a lot of great New Orleans artists like the Revival Brass Band and The Meters.”
“The food was absolutely delicious and amazing! When I first arrived it took forever to be greeted even after having reservations. The server made up for it though! He was really nice and knows what he's doing. He had so many tablets alone and was handling them all. The shrimp and grits were the best ever. The bread pudding was delicious as well! Its small inside and I've never liked parking downtown. I've already told my friends about this place and I will be back! Bad parking or not, it's worth the fight lol. I can't remember the name of the dish my sister had but it was just amazing!!! I highly recommend this place!”
“Look let me start by saying Blue Denim is probably my favorite restaurant in Greensboro, above a few other objectively fantastic establishments. Primarily because Cajun / creole is just personal favorite. They have my favorite shrimp and grits in town and use the Stone Mill grits near my hometown as the base. That being said, I really hope they can get their service to be more consistent. The last time I went it was relatively decent service but yet still felt they struggled even keeping water glasses filled. Which just fall short of the experience in which I came to Expect with a blue denim. My last critique would be the pricing, certain menu items are almost just comically overpriced, this is not a type of food that should be too over complicated and really the price should be reflective of that however it just simply is not here. All in All, happy to see Blue Denim continuing to do well amidst the other restaurant closures downtown.”
“Had an absolutely horrible experience at this restaurant on Saturday May 9 for my daughter's celebratory graduation dinner. I am from California and I booked this reservation online not knowing anything about the restaurant. I was just looking for a southern style restaurant. I made a reservation online for 2 tables of 6 because the website will only allow you to book a reservation for 6 at a time. Using my credit card to hold both tables. The first half of our guest arrived promptly at 5:45 pm and due to unforeseen circumstances the other half of our guest arrived at 6pm. We had two servers 1 for each table. The gentleman service was great no complaints but the middle aged woman who served the table I was at was rude, pushy, and seemed annoyed. Once half of our table received our food she comes to our table to tell us that we will need to leave promptly at 7:45 pm because theres another reservation coming in. Mind you its 7:10 pm and half of us still have not received our food yet. There was another table of 12 guests who had arrived prior to us as well as a few empty tables. I asked the waitress why are ypu rushing us hen half of us have not received our food and why isnt this being addressed to the other table that was seated prior to us. Her response is there is no where else to place the large party of 16 except in our section. After that she became rude , didn't check if we needed anything just brought our checks before we finished eating as to rush us along. Again this is a graduation celebration for my daughter and 90 % of us are from out of town. We asked for the manager/owner he says we tried to take advantage by booking 2 reservations online instead of calling. EXCUSE ME I've never even heard of your restaurant prior to coming. I just did a google search. Why would I need to call to make a reservation when the website allowed me to book 2 tables. AND how are we taking advantage when we are paying customers. Makes no sense. Being a first and last time customer, . I am a foodie and I live to write reviews on new restaurants I visit. The food was subpar, the catfish was undercooked and the service was trash. I would caution anyone visiting Greensboro to skip this restaurant as it is not known for its SOUTHERN CHARM.”
