“Lovely little restaurant in Avila Beach. The restaurant overlooks the ocean. It was a beautiful day on the central coast in the quaint town of Avila Beach. For lunch, we dined on pan seared scallops & grilled salmon. Both dishes were delicious and they were accompanied by a French pinot noir champagne from Alsace region. We couldn’t decide on which bottle of champagne to purchase with our lunch and the sommelier kindly provided a taste of 2 champagnes that would complement our meal. They offered a discount if you’d like to take a bottle of wine or champagne to go, we decided to purchase a case of champagne. The service was excellent as our server Ryan checked in on us frequently. Looking forward to return.”

The food was delicious, the ocean view beautiful and the service was outstanding - Gilles took his time to chat with us and even gave us more recommendations for the trip. “Had a lovely date night dinner here! We went on a Friday during the winter time, so it wasn’t busy. We made reservations but were easily able to get sat early since we were hungry. We sat outside and even though it was cold there were plenty of heaters to make it comfortable. The view right next to the beach was wonderful! The staff was very friendly and made pleasant conversation with us about recommendations and the area. The food was just as delicious! We shared the baked bree starter, then split the lobster roll, with salad, and the croque monsieur with clam chowder and salad (which was my favorite). Had we not been stuffed, we would have tried one of the desserts as well. Good date night spot, or a gathering with friends. Overall a super cute spot by the beach with a variety of cozy meals and pleasant atmosphere!”

“The location and atmosphere is great! The kids that work here are friendly and working hard. My partner is French so we love a good Bistro! The wines choices were great, but, the food was disappointing. The Soup à l’onion seemed watered down, but the cheese on top was good. Clam Chowder was comforting. Baked Brie (small) was great! Sadly, my $50 scallops were smaller sized and a bit chewy. The “Cognac” Cream sauce was just thick and creamy without flavor. I didn’t finish my main course. The staff was wonderful and hit by a late night rush at 8pm on a Friday night. This may also be the reason our food was lacking. We would give it another try.”

“The views were beautiful and the complimentary bread and butter were probably the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing, especially for the price. My lobster roll was $42 and tasted overly fishy, which made it difficult to enjoy. My husband’s ribeye was also overcooked compared to how it was ordered. For the cost, we expected much better quality and execution. The location and atmosphere are nice, but the food didn’t live up to the price point. Overall, not very impressed and likely wouldn’t return.”
