Restaurant Bullerei

“This was a great find! The food was amazing, the waiter friendly and helpful and the atmosphere brilliant. I'm still raving about it. Not the cheapest mind you but if you're on a budget you can eat and drink here for under 30€ pp. Well worth the price too in my opinion. Worth noting that there are two separate parts of Bullerei with separate kitchens, and I believe the main restaurant might need reservations. But we stayed in the other part where the main difference is just that there is less choice of dishes. My boyfriend had Spargel (Asparagus) - a seasonal delicacy in Germany, if you're a tourist here in Spargel Season I would recommend trying it. He said the potatoes served alongside it were divine too. I had meatballs with an onion mash type thing. That was extremely delicious. Very minor side point, but the toilets here were great too. It was a whole experience, felt like entering a different place with rave music playing.”

“The food at Bullerei is absolutely fantastic true comfort food at its best! The hand cut tartare was perfectly seasoned and a dream to eat. I’ve never had a Cordon Bleu pork chop like this before truly special and delicious. The service was incredibly friendly. Kudos to the entire team at Bullerei you can really feel the joy they bring to their work!”

“Bullerei Hamburg delivered on every level! From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive and friendly. The meal itself was a culinary highlight. Our starter of prawns was delicious, but the mains stole the show: my Cordon Bleu was phenomenal, tender and juicy, and the steak was a perfect cut, expertly prepared. High-quality ingredients and faultless execution. Highly recommended!”

“A lovely experience with a group of 4. Drawn into the restaurant also by the fame of its owner, this was an overall nice stay, though I would admit, that the atmosphere is what makes the place. Staff is chill and friendly, but more ob the leisure side of communication (which I prefer). And it fits the bill, as this is not a white cloth type of restaurant. Food was overall solid, the parsley root though only a side was a clear winner for me though. Really smart and well balanced. The Tartar was a lovely preparation, too. Overall everybody at the table was happy and pleased. Homemade lemonade also a strong recommendation. Overall though .. I don't wanna say let down, but feels like a short step to short to be spectacular, which is a bit of a shame, because in this case it feels like deliberately holding a punch, one so clearly is able to provide. Will be back at some time in the future, hoping to find the evening where the stars align, and the Bullerei truly shows its potential for all 5 stars ;) Until then thanks so much for a lovely evening”
