“I wanted to try this place in Hamburg and I was not disappointed! We ordered some dumplings as an appetizer and they were just delicious! The dressing was superb and was the perfect start for this dinner. Afterwards the noodles were nicely cooked and the sauce and meat were all perfect. Their beer selection could be better, but apart from that everything was great! Service was kind and fast and the place is so nicely decorated you couldn’t ask for more.”
“We had a really good time at BATU. We had the chance and the weather to sit outside on the balcony and we can only recommend the outside space. The food was fantastic and something quite special, the drinks were perfect and the staff and ambience friendly and in style. But reservations are required and highly recommended, the place was continuously packed for hours. We will be back for sure.”
“Nice interior and atmosphere. Delicious food and cocktails. If you're a foodie and have a huge appetite, this will be a down side because the portion is quite small. For me, 14 pieces of dumplings and a main dish didn't make me full. Therefore the price may not be ideal.”
“Found this place by chance when we tried to go to a different place. We were not disappointed. The food was yummy. We tried the 5 spicy shrimp dumplings, 5 chicken dumplings, and ginger beef noodles. They were all tasty. And the restaurant looks cute with all the Chinese lanterns. The inside was a bit humid and stuffy so we sat in the terrasse area for better air quality. it was a lot better in my opinion”
“Came by chance to this restaurant after the restaurant we wanted to go initially was full. The menu and concept seemed enticing. Overall I was disappointed. I'm fine with the size of the menu but I expect the food to be really tasty and remind me of real Chinese cuisine. I took the Szechuan Beef ragu and there was nothing Szechuan about it. The spiciness is probably watered down but it made the overall pretty neutral. My girlfriend picked the vegetarian (5) and pork dumplings (5). She wasn't impressed and was still hungry after that. It just wasn't anything special and it wasn't tasteful enough. Service was fine overall, one waitress did tell us that she would come back to know if we were fine with the sauce but never came back. I waited a bit but I wasn't going to let my food get cold. Definitely not my first choice, disappointed but maybe it fits people who don't like too spicy and that's fine too.”
