With surprising combinations and intense flavours, Nikkei Cuisine cultivates a style that combines the Japanese subtlety for traditional and elegant dishes with savoury elements from Peru. Whether it’s tartar from Wagyu steak from the southernmost tip of Japan, or pickled scallops, which are given a whole new taste thanks to Peruvian elements. Food is grilled over an open fire on the Japanese Robata grill in a walk-in show kitchen. Be enchanted by the cosmopolitan atmosphere of our restaurant in Hamburg and enjoy the finest cuisine at NIKKEI NINE right by the Inner Alster Lake.
“It was a truly wonderful experience and one of the best dining experiences I've had since coming to Hamburg for work. The food was phenomenal, and the service was exactly what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber: professional, attentive, and welcoming. There was also an excellent selection of cocktails and beverages. I especially appreciated the surprise for my birthday. Even though I was dining alone, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome and warmly looked after throughout the evening. My sincere compliments to the team. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back.”
“We had an extremely nice evening at Nikkei Nine. Really good service from our arrival to saying goodbye to our waiter. The cocktails were amazing - one of them was the most surprising ever and fitted perfectly to the menu. The food was delicious and beautiful. It’s a bit pricy but worth the experience.”
“Food was fabulous. Service was fantastic. We did the omakase menu and it didn’t disappoint. The ceviche was out of this world. The only point of issue was, sometime the music was a little techno-club like and too loud for our tastes. At other times, the music was great.”
“We booked the upgraded omakase menu for two (€170 per person) The service, atmosphere, and overall dining experience were excellent. The staff were attentive and the restaurant has a very pleasant ambiance. However, the food itself did not quite justify the price. Compared with other omakase experiences in the same price range in Berlin, both the portion size and the quality of the ingredients felt less impressive. A few specific observations: * The gyoza appeared to be pan-fried first and then cooked with liquid, which unfortunately took away the crispy texture of the wrapper. * The mixed rice dish was noticeably too salty. * The sushi pieces were on the smaller side, although the flavor and texture were good. * Dessert was excellent and was one of the highlights of the meal. Overall, it’s a beautiful restaurant with outstanding service, but I expected more from the food given the price point.”
“The atmosphere was wonderful. Since I was alone, making a reservation was a bit difficult, but when I asked the hotel for help, they arranged it for me. I ordered the 5-course menu, and each dish was more delicious than the last. The meal ended perfectly with dessert. My server, Suna, was very attentive and provided excellent service.”
