Canard Vineyard has been crafting estate wines in Napa Valley since 1984, quietly building a reputation for depth, character, and a steadfast commitment to doing things the right way. Located in Calistoga at the northern end of the valley, the estate remains intentionally understated, focused on thoughtful farming, limited production, and a more personal approach to hospitality. Each visit to Canard is hosted privately and by appointment. Rather than a traditional tasting room, guests are welcomed for a seated, one-on-one experience overlooking the vineyard, with time to explore the wines at a relaxed and unhurried pace. The estate produces a collection of single-vineyard wines each year, including its historic 145-year-old Zinfandel, Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux style blends, all dry farmed and sustainably grown to reflect the distinct character of our estate . For those seeking a quieter, more authentic side of Napa Valley, Canard offers a return to something more personal.
“Rich is amazing! This winery is a hidden gem with limited production. The grounds are beautiful and the stories Rich shared are even better! Rich was so knowledgeable about the history of NAPA and his part in keeping the culture. All the wines were amazing my favorites being reserve and Adam’s blend. Rich was kind enough to personally drive us to our next tasting!”
“I've sold these wines at several wine stores and always find them semi hidden gems. Their Zins really deliver but I just pulled a 2018 Napa Cab from my cellar and had with a big ribeye. It was singing! Had that perfect balance of tannins, (light) oak and fruit. It could have gone another 8-10 years with proper storage.”
