“Great place. I loved everything I ordered. New York strip was cooked as ordered, the oysters were fantastic, and I nailed the wine pairing! Service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was great. A cool location/venue too. Just passing through the area but would recommend this place and would absolutely visit again! Not sure what else is in Arcata, but who cares, go here!”
“Excellent choice for people looking for excellence. I love visiting the area, but staying in McKinleyville, the dining choices are a bit limited for people looking for a dining experience. That was my thoughts before I came to Salt. From the friendly and prompt service to the delicious drink and food, I was very content with my selection. The ambulance is perfect for intimate get together or a romantic dinner. I started with a mescal drink called Smoke and Mirrors. Their rendition was very flavorful, with a bit of smoke, sweet and just a delight to try. If you are mescal curious, try this! I went wimpy and got a pizza. It's one of my favorite foods, and with the option to add the mushrooms to the sausage pizza, I went with it. It does have calibri peppers in it, which are fantastic. A little bit of heat but nice flavor that really added to the overall great flavor of the pizza. Nice crisp crust as well. Yum dudes!”
“I had the pleasure of dining at Salt on Saturday night, and I can’t rave enough about my experience! From start to finish, everything was incredible, but what truly stood out was the service. Hunter, the bartender, went above and beyond. She was not only incredibly friendly and welcoming but also gave us personalized recommendations that really made the evening special. Hunter introduced me to my new favorite Mezcal margarita – and it was absolutely perfect. Her knowledge and enthusiasm really added to the entire dining experience. It’s rare to come across service that makes you feel so valued, and Hunter nailed it. The ambiance and food were fantastic too, but it’s the service that will make me want to come back time and time again. Highly recommend Salt, and be sure to ask for Hunter at the bar!”
“One of the finest restaurants in Humboldt County, with innovative and delicious seafood-based dishes that are well worth the price. The space is light and airy, with fascinating decor, touches, and a number of super comfy, semi-circular booths. The bar has additional seating at a window, side counter, and a few small tables. Every time I dined or drank here, the service was excellent and attentive. The wine list is well-curated, with a pleasing array of selections. Would have been five ⭐️ all around if the person designing the menu could make one small change: annotate relevant dishes with footnotes, letting us know which dishes contain dairy and wheat. (This will save lactose and gluten intolerant patrons from having to send dishes back when the ingredients were not disclosed upfront.) And!! Some more non-dairy dessert options would be very welcome… Because then I would come more often, and spend more money. 🤨😉”
“Sadly I was pretty disappointed in the food here. It’s pretty pricey. I paid $44 for my entree alone and it was very under seasoned. The presentation was nice. Honestly everything was under seasoned. I felt like there was no depth of flavor. I know I keep mentioning it but honestly it tasted like tomato and the tiniest amount of salt. There was a lemon on the side but that’s it. Very one demential. The broccoli was HARD. Seems it was barely steamed. They dishes seem inconsistent. My husband and I got two different menues and I guess one was outdated they had different things in each. When looking online at photos the dishes are changed constantly. The calamari was the only thing I think was worth the money. There’s some nasty construction outside too. The interior is cute.”
