Quarterdeck is a Seafood restaurant in the Arlington neighborhood of Arlington.
“Casual relaxed atmosphere, and a good fan for airflow when you’re sitting outside. Fresh tasty seafood and the best crab cakes my husband and I have ever had! Lovely quick service and very enjoyable - so we came back again the next day before traveling home.”
“Quarterdeck is honestly one of my favorite seafood spots in the DMV. I’ve been here four times now, including twice for my birthday, and it’s become one of those places I’ll always keep coming back to. The blue crabs are great, but my personal favorites are the crab legs and the hush puppies. Seriously unmatched. So good every single time. The service is always kind and consistent, and the atmosphere is part of why I love it so much. It has that local, family owned feel where you actually feel comfortable sitting there for hours eating seafood and talking. Nothing feels overly commercial or forced. Just really good food, good people, and a fun atmosphere. Quarterdeck never misses.”
“We were visiting DC and came across this spot as a must-try, so we decided to check it out, and I’m glad we did. I made reservations in advance, which worked out perfectly since we were seated right away. The food was delicious overall. There was a bit of a wait for the blue crabs, but it was definitely worth it. The only thing I didn’t really enjoy was the coleslaw, but everything else was great. I would absolutely come back the next time I’m in town.”
“Food and drinks were okay, firstly the water cups but the wait for our food was soooo long. I’m talking… order at 6:10 and not getting food until 6:50 pm. I hope they come up with some more efficient system to deal with long wait time. Overall, love the vibe. Oh and would be cool too if they can offer grilled oysters beside raw and fried.”
“First-time visitor here, and unfortunately the experience didn’t live up to the buzz. We had a 5:45 reservation and were told only medium and large whole crabs were available. We appreciated that the menu is upfront about the 45-minute wait for steamed crabs, that part we loved. We ordered two dozen large males, but when they arrived, the seasoning was nearly nonexistent and roughly half were noticeably light and empty. Given the price, we were honestly ready to send the entire order back. To his credit, the manager handled it graciously, he had us set the light crabs aside and removed a dozen from the bill, which we appreciated. That said, the crabs that remained lacked flavor and were honestly closer to medium in size. We eat crabs regularly, so we know what we’re paying for. Service was friendly but stretched thin. Our waitress was attentive when available, but we eventually had to flag down another server just to pay the check because she was occupied with another table and we needed to leave. The restaurant itself is lovely, great atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating, and the staff overall was warm and welcoming. We’re genuinely hoping this was an off night, but we’re not likely to return.”
