Ajax Tavern is an American restaurant in the Downtown neighborhood of Aspen.
“Beautiful location, at the base of the lift. Good music, nice table, excellent food and service. The cost is a bit expensive but competitive for Aspen area. We recommend this place!”
“Fun apres ski spot for a drink and fries! Some of the staff are fantastic, whereas some of the younger staff just seem over it and only interested in more higher paying guests. Fun spot to watch people coming down the hill.”
“Everything was absolutely spectacular. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. I would especially like to highlight the exceptional service provided by Luis, the manager—truly top-notch and made the visit even better. And the burger? Without a doubt, the best burger in Aspen.”
“Overall, the food, atmosphere, and waitress are great. However, the three hostesses were incredibly confusing. There were three of them attending to one person at a time. A five-minute wait turned into 30 minutes, and when the table became available, they tried to push our group of three to a table that clearly fit only one person. However, once we talked to the manager, we were welcomed to a larger table. Food-wise, it’s amazing. The appetizers and mains were impressive. The DJ and atmosphere were the highlight of our afternoon. Definitely recommend for a late lunch after skiing. Just be aware of prices.”
“It was just a very underwhelming meal. For starters when we arrived it took quite a while for someone to greet us and just give us water. We sat inside and the head bartender was either in a bad mood or just liked to throw bottles around. Every time he finished a bottle, he literally threw it in the container pretty aggressively. At first, we thought it was an accident but it kept occurring. It was annoying. Additionally, we were disappointed in the lack of cleanliness. There was a large group sitting at a table and quite frankly they made a mess. That's not the restaurant's fault but it stayed that way for the hour and a half that we were there, which was kind of gross. Food all over the table and floor. We had high expectations for this restaurant as our first meal was at element 47 and it was incredible there! Great service, great food so we thought that the Ajax would be the same, but more casual and it certainly was not. It was a three at best. Next time we stay at the Little Nell, we will not go back to Ajax Tavern. Very disappointing.”
