“It was the first time my wife and I ate there and it was really fantastic. We had the spring roll appetizer, my wife had the salmon and I ate the meatloaf. It was so delicious. A real surprise, honestly. The server (I didn’t get her name) gave us superlative service. The strawberry butter cake desert was sublime. The entire experience was exceptional. Loved it!”
“One of the few local restaurants that has a real diverse menu. Lunch or dinner is a good choice. Salads, soups, appetizers, desserts and plated meals are well prepared and have that home cooked feel. Never been there without a reservation.. I’ve always observed they are busy air the time. The wait staff is fair at best and for me the lighting could be better!”
“This was by far one of the best meals I have had in Atlanta. The service was OUTSTANDING- Sampson was kind, funny, fast, and made excellent recommendations. This will be our new weekly go to.”
“This location is very nice, friendly staff and very clozy atmosphere. Their food quality felt very good, rare these days. Chicken bacon grill is superb and Salmon burger is amazing. Ingredients definitely are pretty good.”
“We had a nice experience overall at Village Tavern. There was a mix-up with our peanut allergy note on the reservation, but the manager and our server were both really nice and got the situation corrected quickly, which we really appreciated. The food was mostly great — the French onion soup was flavorful, and the calamari had a good spicy kick. The mac and cheese was so good with that crispy breading on top. The steak and asparagus were cooked well, and the sweet potato fries were tasty, though a little too sweet — they really don’t need extra sugar. The mashed potatoes had good flavor but could’ve been a bit creamier. The martinis were good. The water had a strange taste, the Sprite tasted more like 7UP, and the glassware was a bit sticky, which was noticeable. Overall, good food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. The staff handled our allergy situation really well, which made the visit much better. A few small details could be improved, but we’d come back again.”
